Mancouch Now On Hiatus

To my fellow Couch Army soldiers,

There comes a time in the life of every couch when it realizes that the years of being sat upon by asses large, small, stinky and misshapen have taken their toll on the upholstery. Yet even while the massive cheek imprints frighten us with their depth, one can only stand in awe of the many great moments had on it, and look forward to a future of firm, sexy cushions once again.

Now that I'm finished with the unnecessarily cheesy metaphor: Mancouch is going on hiatus. So, for the time being at least, you will no longer see new material on the main page.

Not to worry, though! The site will still remain up, as will all of our posts and your personal blogs. I encourage you all to keep writing here, to peruse our massive amount of manly material and to keep the torch burning. Use the search function on the main page to look for posts, or head over to the tag page to find a specific topic.

Before we sign off, however, there are a few words of thanks I'd like to share. First of all, thanks to our tireless interns who brought great content to the site every day. We've had too many to count, but to the current team: Toni, Andrew, Brian, Jack, Lindsey, Sara, and to all of the other interns I've worked with - thank you! The same goes out to the Xanga team for all their support.

Most importantly, I thank all you readers. You've brought us a lot of laughs, sent in a lot of great content, and made Mancouch a truly worthwhile place to sit and relax.

Special thanks to mdongivin, mynameisbluesky, and A_NY_Zone61. Your respective contributions to the causes of manliness, provocative thought, and film critique were always great additions to the site.

Now raise your glasses to the Couch! A wretched hive of scum and villainy, a place of rest, humor, and home to some of the best pictures of boobs this side of the Xanga network. May she continue to cushion our asses wherever we go.

Here's to all the people we've met and the people we've fucked, and to those of us who've had no such luck. Here's to beer in the glass and vodka in the cup, and poking her in the ass, so she doesn't get knocked up. Here's to you and here's to me, forever as friends we shall always be, but if we should ever disagree, then fuck you and here's to me. Appropriate farewell? I think so. Best of luck on all of your future endeavors.

Shakespeare once said "Parting is such sweet sorrow". I for one have put my imagination to the test as a writer for mancouch and i am proud of the results.

This internship at the ripe age of 28 has inspired me to write again. Something i always wanted to do yet i fell victim to the corporate behemoth and the "American Dream" of having a job, a house, 2.5 children, and a white picket fence.
The bittersweet ending to this website seems oxymoronic in my life. I finally found something i can divulge my enigmatic personality for it to shut down before my very eyes.
The broad subject matter that ultimately might have had something to do with the demise of Mancouch, is the same reason i rejoiced whenever i thought of a subject to write about.
I ranted about police officers, I discussed the woman's rear, I even wrote about the importance of Kanye's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
But it is better to have loved than to have never loved before...or something like that. ill always have those articles and hopefully this hiatus means just that and we can really just say 'see ya later'.
