Vote for your favorite games to be featured in new Smithsonian exhibition
This is a guest post from our friends at playWISE.
You have played games since you were a kid, so only you would know just what games are museum quality. That’s why, for a limited time, the Smithsonian is asking you to vote for the games it will feature in its upcoming exhibition, “The Art of Gaming.”According to GameInformer, Chris Melissinos, curator of the exhibition, said, “I want this exhibition to include the collective voice of the video game world, which is not limited to the developers, designers, and artists but also the game players… It is important to me that when gamers visit the exhibition, they find the experiences that most matter to them.”
The exhibition isn’t about games on the surface level. By featuring selections of gaming that span the history of the medium, the Smithsonian seeks to answer the question: are video games art?
The voting started today on the exhibition’s website and will end on April 7. “The Art of Gaming” opens on March 16, 2012.

Era 3 had some tuff choices. Pitting Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past and Chrono Trigger against one another shouldnt be allowed. Also glad to see Blazing Dragons on the list, that was a game ahead of its time.
