South Florida's Music Scene Joins The Stampede! Movement

“Healthy, Active and productive life physically, mentally, and spiritually, “ is the mission statement For Stampede!, the South Florida Band that has been rocking college crowds since 2008 and released their debut album Babylon Punk in 2010.One Nesta Robert Marley, better known as Bob Marley and his own collective of The Wailers, heavily influences the six-member crew. But in no way can they even be categorized in any one genre. Their album has infused sounds that include Reggae, ska, Rock ‘N Roll, Jazz, Blues, Punk, Hip-Hop, Folk and so on and so forth.

Meeting at Florida Atlantic University, Cory Baker (lead vocals, guitar), Joey Leto (lead vocals), and Chris Montague (lead guitar, back-up vocals) formed Stampede! with some other members that didn’t last. Eventually, Fabian Acuna (bass), Tristan McNeil (drums), and Vinny Lombardi (Percussion) were courted as the current roster of Stampede! was completed.
They are friends that got together to make music that is constant with a lot of the Rastafarian teachings and ideologies. On “Nine Months” the song begins with a plucking of the guitar strings that resembles a Chili Pepper classic but then before our eyes switches into a jazz inspired spliff smoking journey of a man’s failure to keep his girl after being with her for her pregnancy.
“Keep Moving Along” is just what the title suggests and is classic head bop/rock out material.Stampede! is a grassroots movement that is a necessary neck snap to the current state of music. Though their fans are limited to South Florida college crowds, they should be heard as each member can hold his own as an individual musician.
