  • The Funniest People on Twitter

This is a guest post from Just A Guy Thing.

Twitter is a very divisive innovation. Many love the fact that they can check in, shoot short messages about their day, or just fire off some sappy drivel about how great is it to have friends (!!!) or some other crap. People hate it for the exact same reason.

However, different uses for Twitter have emerged for different professions, and comedians have used it to expand their fan bases by turning the Twitterverse into a dumbing ground for jokes. Some are funny, some are less funny, but fortunately, unlike committing to a book, if a joke is stupid, big deal. You're only out about three seconds of reading time. Or maybe a lot longer if you're wildly uneducated.

Sorting through all the bullshit on Twitter isn't easy though, as there aren't really categories or an index that labels "funny people." Well, we'll take that responsibility upon ourselves to let you know who you can follow to make you laugh while you wait to get your oil changed.

    Michael Ian Black

This guy was in The State on MTV, Wet Hot American Summer, Michael and Michael Have Issues, but most noticeably, he was the funniest guy on VH1's I Love the ____. His humor is all over the place, but it's almost always absurd and almost always funny.

    Rob Delaney

I had no idea who this guy was until I saw a bunch of his retweets popping up in my feed from other people. I still am not exactly sure, other than he is a stand-up comedian and has a pretty funny blog. Whatever, funny is funny.

    Rob Huebel

What can I say? Guys named Rob are funny on Twitter. This guy is starting to blow up with roles in almost every comedy being made, but he first got notoriety as one-third of the cast of MTV's sketch comedy team Human Giant. My fave on the list. He tweets often, and almost all are comic gold.

    Donald Glover

He's the black dude on Community, but he got such a frenzied following on Twitter that a grassroots campaign was started to make him the next Spider-Man. He didn't get it (damn you, Andrew Garfield!), but he's still damn funny.

    Kanye West

No, Kanye's not trying to be funny, but what should that matter. This guy is so damn crazy he's about to spin off the planet. One day, a future civilization will stumble upon his tweets and wonder what the hell we were all about.

Do find these twitter users funny, or just annoying? Who are the funniest people on Twitter in your opinion?
