This is Why You Don't Drag Race in Traffic
This is a guest post from Just A Guy Thing.
Or at least why you don't let your jackass friend do it while you complicitly film it. In addition to ruining his car, the driver (along with the other driver, both got hit with jail time, fines and community service for their idiocy. He seems contrite now, though, three years after the fact. He was quoted as saying:Because of this accident, I ended up being sentenced to 120 days in jail, two years of probation, and 100 hours of community service. The driver of the Mustang was sentenced to six months of prison among other things. I do not recommend illegal street racing to anyone. It is highly dangerous. My life has been affected by this since it happened, which has been almost three years now. You could be the best driver in the world, but you never know what the other person is going to do.
Street racing: Just say no.

I'm trying to figure out what the other driver that got in his way was trying to do.
@Bushy_Tailed@xanga - tried to avoid by swerving to the right but didn't make it.
haha, suckers
i only feel bad for the innocent car that got hit, assuming what they were doing was legal.
yeah, you never know what the other cars are going to do, even if you are a great driver. They might all be assuming you are following the rules of the road as well.
Coincidentally, I was listening to this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPq_p728y3s&feature=related) while the video came on, and it synced up really well...
But yeah, racing is stupid. People try to do it up here on Rt. 1 in Philly and there are a million lights in the NE section... not to mention it's a safety corridor with a speed limit of 40-45mph. I know people who have gotten 2000$+ fines for speeding/racing in this area on the blvd.
I still don't understand what that car was doing in that intersection.
looks like they got what they deserved
When we street race we're also not dumb enough to do it during the day time.
I'm glad no one got hurt... Well, actually, I'm glad no innocent people got hurt. The people involved in drag racing, on the other hand, I couldn't care less about. Good drivers don't race. Why? Because they realize that their actions on the road affect more than just their trip from point A to point B.
