This Season of House Is Letting Me Down
Paging Dr. House to the Disappointing Ward.
The once-cantankerous and shocking doctor has turned into a pile of stink this season. It’s not even halfway through yet, so I know there’s still time recovery, but I might soon be tempted to pronounce this once favorite show of mine D.O.A.
As a friend of mine recently put it, “House is like a neutered dog now. He needs to start humping my leg again.” Crude analogy? Maybe, but I happen to agree.
A few seasons ago, House faked cancer in order to get into an experimental drug trial because he wanted to get high. His team spent the entire episode worrying and frantically trying to disprove his positive test results. They succeeded, only to have the miserable titular character tell them he did it on purpose.
The first time I saw that episode, it shocked me because it proved how miserable and depressed House actually was.
Look how sad he looks...
This season, House is dating his boss and babysitting her toddler daughter. So we went from a fresh, provocative storyline to misadventures in child-care with House and Wilson.
Wrong direction, House. Wrong direction.
What do you think of this season of House?

He can't be a fucking dillweed forever. Get over it.
Geez, let him be happy for at least a few episodes. When it comes to his life, things tend to come crashing down sooner or later, anyways.
Well, House is becoming happier because he's with Cuddy, and their ups and down in the relationships are quite entertaining. Also, the medical cases House has are pretty interesting.
You should be happy they're taking a break from the plot they used for every single episode of the previous seasions:
- Some patient comes in with seemingly minor symptoms
- House diagnoses him/her in 20 seconds and ridicules his staff for incompetence
- House's diagnosis turns out to be wrong, and the perscribed treatment makes patient worse
- House gets his staff to work on it, and then ignores everything they say and gives them a second diagnosis
- Patient continues to grow even worse so House writes patient off as dead and leaves.
- House comes running back at the last second to save the patient when the true diagnosis suddenly came to him.
- House goes home takes unnecessary medications while doing something sad by himself.
omg i hate myself for reading this.
@not_izzy@xanga - So, you are sayuing the old House is cliche enough to make a drinking game out of?
@mynameisblueskye@xanga - Pretty much lol
@summerdreams505Aa@xanga - Agreed
House miserable was becoming a one trick pony. While he may be more "tame" now, the dime episode was still good with the kicks imo.
Besides, the part where Cuddy cupped House's balls made me laugh like an idiot.
what?!
this season is just fine thank you
House Cuddy relationship is finally being explored at last
The house is an ass theme has sailed long ago
I probably would've stopped watching if cuddy didnt save him from his vicodin
and he abused it again this season....then he'd be lying and rehabing all over again...
talk about moving backwards
this season is good
I like this season.
You're right. We should just make him suffer until he dies. /sarcasm
Find another show where the main character isn't allowed to be happy and leave House alone. :P
He's happier now, so not as many.. House-type jokes, but its not awful. And the episodes themselves are fine for me :)
What's awful is Amber whatever-her-last-name-is, Masters-person. CAN. NOT. STAND HER.
I have to agree. I started watching House since the beginning and it's not as exciting. I have to say it started last season. I haven't watched the last 4 episodes this season (and that's major because I never miss an epi). I don't know, I just hope something happens to spice it up.
In the meantime, I've been addicted to Modern Family.
Haven't been watching, but I'm afraid to. House and Cuddy actually together? Gag me, please, before I vomit.
Ugh.I think this season is doing just fine. There's such a thing called character development for a reason. We all know his relationship with cuddy is going to fall apart. There's no way they'll even make it past this season...unless they conclude it with them getting back together.
I both agree and disagree. On the one hand, I like prior episodes much better. On the other, the series may have just run its course. You can only have so many episodes of the same thing before it gets old, no matter how great it is in the beginning.
I never liked it. I saw one episode with an ex who tried to get me into it, but it's just not my type of TV.
@SodomyClown@xanga - Agreed.
For once my kid sister can watch the show without having to ask any questions about "asses"...
Wouldn't it be more morning if House just stays miserable forever? I rather like this season. It's interesting.
I'm glad he is happy, but I miss the old House, too. I liked when the tension between him and Cuddy was more subtle. Also, I can't stand Rachel. She is supposed to be two years old, but I think she looks older. It bothers me. A lot.
House is in it's 7th season now. They can't keep him a miserable addict forever. If the character never progresses and the show never changes people will get bored with it
I've fallen behind on my house episodes. The last one I remember was the one about the author with the dead son. I know I saw the one after that but I don't remember the premise. I don't mind the season at all. I seriously need to catch up! I'm happy that House is happy for once. And just because he's happy now doesn't mean it won't all go awry.
@O_2683@xanga - OMG Rachel creeps the hell out of me! I'm just waiting for the demon living inside her to projectile vomit all over House! lol.
I am torn about "House" and have been for the past two seasons. While it's nice to have a change, they did it so rapidly that they didn't allow viewers to adjust.
