For some reason today I found myself humming the opening tune from Kingdom Hearts 2, Sanctuary. I actually love the opening song from the original Kingdom Hearts, as well, but for some reason this song sticks with me more.
Editor's Note: The main theme song from Max Payne 2 is my absolute most favorite piece of music attached to any nerdy video game. Also, the ocarina songs from the Legend of Zelda: The Ocarina of Time for the N64 are also classics. Ahhh, the memories.
I think it's more the memories attached to the game, but I love the song.
Sanctuary is nice, but I personally like Passion better. The bridge in Sanctuary sounds crappy compared to Passion's. The Japanese versions are always better.
"Besaid Island" from Final Fantasy X gets me all the time, I play it on piano (the Piano Collection version), listen to remixes of it on OC Remix, and just have it on repeat sometimes on iTunes. It's so soothing and calm.
"Still Alive" from Mirror's Edge.
@oMeGaXmK2@xanga - Anything piano wins. That's why FFX is definitely my favorite soundtrack. But for some reason Sanctuary was just stuck in my head.
"Still Alive" from Portal,
FF7 Victory Fanfare, and FF7 Aeris and Tifa's themes...
World 8 "menu" music - from Mario Bros on the Wii.
But you guys have it all wrong. The original Pokemon GB games had the best soundtracks. Shit I'd ride that fucking bicycle all day long just to hear that peppy "bike ride" tune. Rolling through fields with my bike while listening to some digitized 8-bit music and getting attacked by wild Pidgeys? Shit's dope.
FF7-everytime you win a battle they play the same song-that thing needs to be a single or something
I actually got to attend a FF symphony two weeks ago...it was awesome and nostalgic to listen to the classics and think how much I spent as a kid playing the FF series :)
Nobuo Uematsu is my all time favorite composer!!! I can recognize his music just by listening to it (no video, no hints, no nothing). I love all of his music, but my all time favorite songs from him are "At Zanarkand", "those who fight further" (both the rock version and video game version) and of course the infamous "one winged angel". I also like Hikaru Utada, but I prefer "Simple and Clean" (first kingdom hearts theme song).
@Chasms_Of_The_Mind@xanga - AMEN! God, I love that game: the graphics, the gameplay, the music, the story... all incredible.
Also, not at Chasms..., I'm pretty much in love with any music from any type of Mega Man game (I feel it's necessary to add, "before it was sold to playstation"). I don't know what it is about the cheesy Japanese MIDI rock, but it always makes me happy.
About Me: I'm a 22 year old girl who is a self proclaimed geek. I love to read everything, especially science fiction and fantasy. I love to play video games, especially RPG's. And I love to write short stories and am working on a novel. I started this blog because I get to do two things I love, write about video games!
I'm up for any game. So if you want my opinion on a game I haven't played just suggest it to me. I'll try and track it down even if it is a hard game to find, and then play it and write about it.

The theme from the NES Die Hard game. Seriously.
I think it's more the memories attached to the game, but I love the song.

Brinstar Depths from Smash and Brawl.
Anything from FF
just beautiful
@swtaznxtc90@xanga - Agreed~!
I love Sanctuary!
Anything from Chrono Trigger. The soundtrack on that game was memorable and absolutely amazing considering it was pretty much midi quality.
nobuo uematsu. nuff said.
Yasunori Mitsuda ftw too...oh hell same with akira yamaoka
I don't think people realize how much work goes into sound tracks for some of the best games. Video games need more respect lol
Anything from the original Metroid Prime. Absolutely beautiful score, most notably the Chozo Ruins track I think.
No one has said it yet so I will.... Sephiroth's theme! Go Nobuo!!
@chell_kicks_08@xanga - FTW! I was surprised not many have listed the actual composers too!
To everyone else that loves the soundtracks but doesn't know the composer, I listed them. GO CHECK THEM OUT! Wonderful stuff.
...PS if you liked any of Nobuo's stuff, check out his metal band "The Black Mages" which does FF covers...in METAL.
@robbiearnold@xanga - agreed on nobuo uematsu
wow i've never heard this song in english, but i'm a huge utada hikaru fan.
Still Alive from Portal and Ain't No Rest For the Wicked from Borderlands.
the entire fallout 3 soundtrack. GOLD.
@brokensoul42@xanga - I don't want to set the world on fiiiiireeeeeeee
