  • Summer School Is On Hulu: My Life Is Complete

Oh yes, that is a dog with sunglasses

For those of you not regularly checking the movies and TV shows being added to Hulu, a classic among classics has been added that will take over my life in the coming weeks: Summer School.

What's that? You've never heard of Summer School? You clearly haven't put Comedy Central or USA network on in the middle of the day as background noise often enough.

I have seen Summer School roughly 6,735,429 times. You should never watch any ... ANY movie that much. Because if you do ... well, things become a little weird. It warps your sense of reality and you actually begin to believe that said movie is a good movie when it's clearly not.

I've seen a lot of awful movies I have no business watching because they're awful. For example, I've seen Joe Dirt more time than I care to admit. That is because basic cable channels like Comedy Central love to play awful movies during the day on let's say a Sunday while I'm getting ready to go to my grandparents' house. Or at 3pm on a Wednesday in July when I want to get some work done, but I need some noise to get said work done.

It is a virus. Do you know how many times I've seen Revenge of the Nerds or caught half of Real Genius? I'm just thankful that batshit insane Ted Turner is so obsessed with Shawshank Redemption so I can turn to TNT to get a break every once in a while.

Summer School stands out, though, because it seems to be played as often as Shawshank, yet remains far more obscure. Also because it's terrible and I've seen it enough times to convince myself I love it. At this point it's therapeutic. It's like watching episodes of Wings whenever I stayed home from school because I was sick as a child.

The point is, I no longer need health care, Mr. Obama, because I have Summer School on Hulu.

Are there any awful movies you've seen so many times that you inexplicably began to love them?
