@Cest_LaxVie@xanga - lol Anthony Bourdain has a pretty well-established career in cooking so to compare them wouldn't make any sense. Padma's career is all about modeling and acting in shitty movies. I highly doubt she thought up any recipes for her books, she probably had someone write it for her.
And yes, I would hire a hot female to host my show even if she didn't know jack about cooking. Did you watch Top Chef masters? They have an exotic looking host for that too who probably knows nothing about cooking. It's all about looks.

@Nellie0x@xanga - Ok, so I'd hire her to look pretty and I'd tell her to shut her mouth about the chefs...BUT she judges them, and her opinion does matter - and the people whose cooking she likes end up getting quite a nice amount of money in the end. The thing is, all these competitive realty shows have a pretty face - always - but those pretty faces have to be justified. Their career has to be related to the show - and while she's not extremely established, writing two cook books [and I'm sorry - if someone else wrote the cook book under her name, wouldn't that person want to be credited and have their name on the cover???] does qualify her to be on the show, look good and actually judge and have an opinion.
She's not as established as Bourdain, but she does know how to cook. Otherwise, she would not be allowed to judge people's food. The end. And I think she's really smart to make money out of so many things [being a food expert - she was on Food Network, Planet Food and in food related magazines, hosting Top Chef, modeling and having her own jewelry line]. I generally hate models, except when they know how to make more money.
