Who Were Your Heroes Growing Up?
Growing up, we had people we loved. People we wanted to be when we grew up.
We had heroes.
Some of us had them on Saturday Morning Cartoons and - if we were lucky - on our clothes. GI Joe, for example.
Then, all of us, at one time or another, wanted to be either a fireman or a cop.
And some of us - if we were lucky - had a dad, a brother, a relative who we looked up to. As a hero. As a definition of the kind of man we wanted to be when we were that tall, and had facial hair.

Batman, Superman and Bruce Lee. Bruce Lee was so awe-inspiring when I watched him as a kid, and he's still pretty amazing when I watch his movies now.

Punky Brewster
Deborah Harry of Blondie. Although when I first saw her photo in a music photo mag, I didn't know her as her name: to me she was Blondie.
She was so cool to me because she was the first woman "front man" in a band that I was aware of. I discovered them when I was about 10 years old...when disco was on it's way out and Punk was new. I still love punk rock. I still love Deborah Harry and Blondie
When I was a little girl, I saw Rambo for the first time and aspired to be just as cool. And Bruce Lee, Ozzy, King Zombie from the Deadworld comics, and Jade from Mortal Kombat were also up there.
Metallica, Batman, Buzz Aldrin, Godzilla
and The Blue Angelsbatman, michael jordan, ken griffey jr. indiana jones, and ofcourse RAMBO!!!

i wish i could be cool like all of the other posters and name some really nostalgic yet original cartoon character but my only hero was my mom. i mean, she's the one that watched all of those cartoons with me. she let me watch ghost busters and happy days after my bed time, every single night! she's the one who stayed up all night so i could read dr. suess to her until she fell asleep. she's the one who bought me all of my barbies and polly pockets! of course she was my hero!
