The Most Unconventionally Manly Video Game Characters Part 3
For those who missed it, I posted choices 10-7 here, and 6-3 here.
The last two characters on my list of the most unconventionally manly video game characters of all time reach epic levels of GAR and badassery. But they do so either defying numerous tropes associated with manliness or taking one really subversive aspect of their own character and just running with it.
(Source)2) Eddie Riggs (Brutal Legend)- I'm probably gonna get flack for this choice, but like I haven't already for my previous choices? Well Eddie actually seems a bit too conventional. His badass but laid back character design and totally likable personality coupled with the ability to both lead and fight with the best of them are common manly traits. A bit too common actually. But what makes him so damn unconventional is that even for his sparkling attitude and awesome one-liners, he's more understated than anyone else on this list. It's not a surprise, considering his story as a roadie forced to let the bands get all the glory, but there's something valiant about unsung heroes. To live for acknowledgment from yourself instead of others? Perhaps that is the most manly trait of all. Too many video game heroes come home with the glory nowadays. But Eddie, even for all that he's worth...
