Last week
we explained what's going on in the Late Night Wars. Since getting completely screwed over and announcing he wouldn't follow Jay, Conan has been on fire and going to town on NBC. He's just been ripping them apart. And last night he took it a step further wasting literally millions of NBC dollars for no reason. It's excellent. Nothing makes me smile as much as this.
The clip starts with Conan mocking a segment from Jay Leno when he ended his first run on the Tonight Show where he showed all the babies born during his run. Conan does the same, but he's only been on the air for 7 months. Then he wastes a lot of money just to stick it to NBC. Go team CoCo! Watch NBC burn:

he can help support Ric Patterson, but that would be an immoral act. he could use it to support the Haitian people and/or give to charity. instead of wasting, he should put it to good use.

Very immature. All I saw was a spoiled kid throwing a temper tantrum. I don't watch any of these late night shows, but when I do catch clips, only Letterman interests me.

I don't watch either one, and I'm starting to regret not watching Conan. However, I do believe he got royally fucked over, as did his crew. I thought this was insanely genius and hilarious. :)
I don't know why people are getting so riled up about the waste of money. That is the point of the bit, not to spend it on something worth while. Those who wondered why he didn't just donate the money to Haiti, well, Conan tends to be a generous guy so I'm sure he's donated plenty of money. He constantly mentioned Haiti for the past week., so he found time to be serious. The thing is, his job is to be a comedian, and when he's clearly getting screwed over of course he's going to talk about it. The blame I see with Leno is just not being able to let go. Someone mentioned that he wanted to retire. They are definitely wrong. NBC forced him to retire. Leno threw a fit and threatened to go to another network and steal ratings, so they gave him a show. Because of this, Leno's crappy show was Conan's lead in. A bad lead in like that can really hurt in your ratings. Idk, I just felt the need to explain all of that.
It's a joke. Conan didn't really waste all that money. He said so last night after he "ruined" a Picasso with caviar.
I love Conan. He didn't deserve to have that happen to him. He was promised the Tonight Show so long ago. It was his dream to host it. And he had that dream ripped away from him.
Did you hear the little speech he gave towards the end of his last show? He's such a nice, genuine, real guy, which is why I like him.
