  • Having A Video Game Crush Is OK

I've often heard arguments over the idea that it's not right or not normal to find animated, hand-drawn or computer-generated characters attractive. For whatever reason, some people have it in their heads that, as humans, we should only feel amorous attraction towards other real humans, not fictional ones made up of nothing but ink or pixels.

Well, I'm here to heartily disagree. Especially now, as graphics in entertainment formats like video games and CG movies approach truly lifelike quality, I think it's only natural for us to have a sexual reaction to attractive characters. Is it unrealistic to treat the attraction as real? Absolutely. Nothing will ever come of them, and no matter how real they look, they'll never actually be real — no matter how many sexy ladies dress like them at cosplay conventions.
