According to my observations, there are 3 different types of girls that hang with mostly/only guys. I'm not talking about girls who have guy friends.
I'm talking about girls who almost exclusively hang with just guys. Sure, they may have some girl friends, but 1) most of their friends are guys, 2) most of their close friends are guys, and 3) they mostly hang out with mainly guys. I label them "Tomboys", "Guy's Gals", and "Bro Hoes". [My definitions do not correlate to any of these particular pictures of any of these girls. i do not think any of them are unattractive.]
1) The TomboysTomboys are the girls who are basically guys. They are treated like guys, they act like guys, and they most of the time look like guys. Tomboys are normally not very attractive, but some can be. Tomboys are not really recognized as girls at all. They are seen as guys to the guys and treated as such. Crude humor and things of the like are not suppressed in their presence. Tomboys are never seriously considered in terms of romantic relationships, unless of course the guy is very desperate, needs a date for an event, or is high/drunk and accidentally gets involved. Though she may be experimented on from time to time, but highly unlikely. In the cases where the Tomboy is actually semi-attractive, she may be madeout with from time to time, but still not looked at for a romantic relationship.
2) The Guy's GalThe Guy's Gal are the girls who are bad ass or just kind of quirky. They are treated like half-girl/half-guy. They join the guys in guy activities, but aren't treated as full guys. They may make just as many crude jokes in front of them, but are treated with more courtesy and more taken care of. They are treated either as little sisters or as potential girlfriends. Guy's Gals are normally at least semi-attractive to very attractive. They can be the bad ass chick who smokes pot and flips people off, or can be the quirky girl who kicks everyone's ass at video games. Guy's Girls don't normally have many girl friends because many girls get jealous or intimidated by them. They also get along better with guys naturally because of personality and/or activity likes/dislikes. Most guys like their personalities.
3) The Bro HosThe Bro Hos are girls who are passed around like liquor. They are treated like girls. They like to participate in guy activities with the guys, but the guys aren't really interested in them as friends. They're invited so that they may get some action. They don't have many girl friends because they also make girls jealous and/or intimidated by them. They're most of the time decently attractive, but more "sexy/hott" attractive than "beautiful/gorgeous" attractive. They get along better with guys naturally, but guys mostly don't really like their personalities. They like to get them drunk/high and see what they can get from them. They aren't invited to just hang with the guys and they are not taken seriously in terms of romantic relationships.
What are your thoughts on my categories? Would you add another category?

yo dawg. i'm all of these things. i think that makes me "not qualified as any type of a desirable girl or girl friend". hell yeah, represent.
i am SO number 2. but i have as many girl friends as i do guys too.
well described tho, all the 3 types up there. covers it all.
obligatory 'OMG STEREOTYPES AND OVERGENERALIZATIONS' post
uhh, There are some girls who don't really have a life of their own and always do what their boyfriend does and hence are always hanging out with the guys. Does that count?
In highschool I was number two, now I'm number three :D
I'm very much number 2. More and closer guy friends than girls
Ok...well than I think there needs to be another group lol. Most of my friends are guys, and they don't even care about cracking crude jokes...but I'm usually just seen as the 'cool chick', who has no girlfriend potential.
Oh really? You don't really know about us ladies then.
I ride Harley Davidson motorbikes and go on motorbike expeditions.
Do I look like a typical biker chick or a tomboy?
I am very much a girly girl, and proud of it.
Well, I AGREE.
I fit category #2, always have and hopefully always will! :) I love that I get to do whatever my guy friends are doing... but they still pay for my dinner. :DI'm like a mixture between a tomoy and a guy's girl. I'm more like a guy's girl because I'm rather attractive and I naturally get along bette with guys, but my guy friends don't treat me like a half guy/half girl. I crack jokes with them and I'm sorta quirky. But at the same time, I hang out with anime dweebs/gamers, so I guess that's to be expected, finding more guys into anime than girls.
agreed!
I like your list.
The girl in the first picture is the hottest, haha.
i'm a bit of each, used to be a very big tomboy...then it changed to guy's girl because of my unlimited knowledge of how boys work...not so much number 3...
come to think about it, just never been THAT popular with girls...esp those around my age, wonder why.
<--Kicks everyone's ass at video games.
I'm a bit of a mix of 1 and 2. I'm definitely not a 3...
The weird thing is, I'm really not good at sports and video games (I'm terrible at them, in fact), but for some reason, I end up hanging out with guys a lot. I think it's because with the guys I meet, we have the same idea of what fun is (having a jam session, exploring an abandoned building, going to metal concerts, watching ridiculous comedy movies, etc.), and that's pretty important for building a friendship.
Ima mix of one and two and I love it, :)
@Starlite@datingish - Yeah, Elisha - you don't belong in any of the group in the blog.
They forgot to add gals who are very sexy and feminine yet tough as nails - who rides Harley Davidson motorbikes and fly high with the pilots.
#2 ("quirky" variety) describes me very well.
I don't know about "types" but I hang out with mostly guys and I seem to be a girl repellent.
This list is actually pretty good. There are always going to be girls that are a bit of both. I've always been #2 and I think it's just fine.
Number 1 ¬¬''
#2, ftw.
i had some #2's but lost em
Girls tend to be mega drama! That's why I have like having lots of guy friends (um, most times!). Ha..guess I'd fall closest under 2.
Albeit slight variations surely exist, in general these 3 categories cover most girls who chill with guys.
i have mostly guy friends, but my best friends are girls.
i just find it really hard to be acquaintances/friends with girls. guys are so much easier to get along with.
