My friends and I set about an epic quest: incorporating the Triple C Trifecta of sugary goodness [cake + cookie + candy] into one beautiful, monstrous creation. The idea was to make a house-shaped yellow cake frosted with nutella, build a gingerbread house around it, and decorate with candies. This was the end product:

Making the cake:
Four walls of the house assembled around a square section of layered and frosted cake:
Pyramidal cake piece to complete the cake-house [it split and had to be frosted back together]:
Roof attached, tree assembled, gingerbread inhabitants added. *Everything covered in frosting and candy*
The "snowy lawn" is marshmallow fluff

Yes, the workmanship is awful. We're not very good bakers and none of us know how to work a piping bag. But still: delicious win!

umm err mancouch rrrrrighttt??? can understand views of finished product and massive diving in and eating...cake everywhere..sighs... but baking it?? think there is a girl where the man on the couch is supposed to be again...

@nprospect - lol manly is in the eating..manly is to have a woman in an apron and nothing else sides a smile make that delectable for you.. (actualy im a fine midnight baker, banana bread with fresh roasted walnuts, roasted walnut brownies, oatmeal cookies, with of course, fresh roasted walnuts, fresh roasted macadamia nuts, cranberry rasins, grape rasins and white choclate ...i can bake but..i dont brag about it) manly is not going over oven temps and such cooking tips less its for BAR-B-QUE ...now if ya want manly put some big boobied babes in each of those pics ..then we talk manly k?

and sexisim??? a woman wearing only an apron and a smile bothers you? big boobies are bad? im a dude which means women are the most beautiful things out there..go to a lookout point ..incredible viewing areas ..wonderful site and go there at sunrise, sunset ..whenever its the most spectacular and watch the crowed..should a woman, tall old small big doesn't matter should any woman simply walk along every man will turn from that incredible site just to simply look at her..me i acknowledge the fact that women are simply beautiful... i love to look smell and taste them and have quite a number. the fact of the matter is i have also found them beautiful while wearing a flack jacket chemsuit, dust goggles, Kevlar helmet and sporting a m16 with a 180 rounds carried, i have found them beautiful while covered in the dust and grime of a job well done .. i have found them beautiful while simply standing and talking about the day ..so sexist??? .. lol k but least i know where my balls are k?
this gives me a great idea to do on christmas morning when we're cooking.
