This is a guest post from Just A Guy Thing

Geisy Arruda has become an overnight Internet sensation after she caused a riot at Brazil’s Bandeirante University in Sao Bernardo do Campo for wearing a short, pink miniskirt to school.

On October 22nd Arruda walked into school wearing the now famous outfit and hundreds of students started heckling her. The situation got so out of hand the local police had to be called in to escort Arruda out of the school safely.

Video of the incident was posted on YouTube and picked up by Brazilian media:

Alas, the hot mama has now been expelled from school. Her university even went so far as to take out ads in the Sunday newspaper publicly accusing her of immorality. The ads say that 20-year old Arruda disrespected “ethical principles, academic dignity and morality.”

Apparently, while wearing a thong to the beach is just fine in Brazil, wearing a miniskirt to class is big, big no-no.

From what I heard she was also acting out. Going into classes of guys who cat-called her and dancing around provocatively.
Brazil might be more liberal in their dress to the beach but in general South and Central American schools have a very modest dress code.

Do I think she should have expelled? No. Even with her behavior I think she should have just been sent home to change or suspended for the day.

However I heard the school undid her expulsion.

I reaaaaaally doubt everything happened just because she was wearing that dress, since a lot of Brazilians tend to show a lot more skin than that (I know, I'm Brazilian). I'm 100% sure she did a lot of other things to cause the outrage. The university expelled her not because of what she wore, but apparently since long she's been known to make foul remarks, walk in a provocative way, show intimate areas of her body and simply tease all the guys around her. I really doubt an entire university would gather around a girl to curse on her because of a pink dress.

Yes, I saw this on Yahoo and Lovelyish yesterday.

Agreed with everything other people above said and also I am quite sure it is a minidress and not a miniskirt *moves glasses up her nose in a very geek/nerd like fashion* :D

they're following her into the classroom like...like...OMG THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE!

but seriously, ya think this is a publicity stunt? ya think?

She's not that great looking either. Her face looks like an ass. And not the good kind.

    @EuropeBrazil@lovelyish - Agreed.

Shame on the OP for making assertions about a whole country because of one incident... Anyway, I think she did deserve to get expelled. She obviously has no respect for the educational institution that she is attending.

@MH - Exactly how is your skirt length a measure of respect? You can go to nearly any beach in Brazil and see ass all over. And frankly, this gal didn't have the legs for it. If she is behaving whoreishly, then fine, kick her out, but the article appears to state her expulsion was based soley on wearing this dress. If there's more to the story, then tell it, don't give people a part of a story and expect them to come to some sort of conclusion.

Oh news out of context... What would we do without you?

  • OOMPAdefiined@xanga

    Wtf is this portuguese shit

  • BellaNeiSogni@xanga

Maybe I'm "skirting" the issue -- but I don't really see where the dress is all that short... I mean, it's "short", but you don't see her panties poking out when she walks, which is more than I can say for a lot of North American girls. Sure, the outfit looks more like clubwear than schoolwear, but I hope there's more to her expulsion than the dress.
