On the 10th of November, Sesame Street celebrates it's 40th birthday. 40 years of teaching kids how to count, spell, and pimp? That's right folks, Sesame Street has been corrupting our nation's children for nearly a half a century. I give you comedian Dave Chappelle, with his infamous indictment of Sesame Street.
Hilarious, right? I can't help but agree with him. Although in Sesame Street's defense, I will say that I'd rather our nation's young people learning about life on the street, than watching the insidious crap-fest that is Blue's Clues, Teletubbies, and (shudder) the Wiggles.
Sesame Street, a hallmark of American television or crack-addled pimp-fest?

I LOVE Dave Chappelle! Lol, this is pretty amazing.
I love ragging on Sesame Street, though I love the show. it's fun to be so unothodox. Speaking of which, here's a good link for SS ragging fans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-Wd-Q3F8KM
Watch 'Knee High Park' its one of the best sets he has ever done... I don't need you honey, cause i beat my dick like it owes me money
lol dave chapelle is the shit! went to his first show when he got back from "the mental institute". amazing live!
in regards to sesame street, it was such a great show while growing up. i heard john john became a soldier and is in the navy now!
ahha i love dave chapelle ! (H)
Hahahaha :']
Man, a lot of people sure like using the word "love" 'round these parts.
Anyway, Chappelle does rock, but to answer your question I think the show is better than most other kid shows. While I was never a big fan of the show, I will admit it's educational and more endearing than watching the teletubies try to please their baby sun god [is that even what the damn show is about? I'm not even sure].
Hey. Blue's Clues was the ish, when Steve was doing it. So, Steve decided to get a music career. Let him be.
And Dave Chappelle's a bomb comedian. I wouldn't be surprised, if that was the truth. Sesame Street looks a lot like a ghetto, and kids don't notice. Haha!
Haha, stuff I'd never even thought of. Sesame Street is so many different things to different people. http://www.newsy.com/videos/sesame_street_turns_40
I've been watching Cookie Monster on YouTube for the past three days. He's a comedic genius.
ha! I haven't seen that in a long time. This was great!
AHHH!! that made me giggle, swhone! du! du smacks! hahahaa
omfg, that was hilarious
Sesame Street is just a babysitter for children. Like Blue's Clues, Dora the Explorer, Bob the Builder, Barney, etc. It entertains them and gives parents a bit of a break or time to get stuff done around the house without being constantly interrupted by kids wanting something random.
If you turn on things like Sesame Street or those other shows, at least until the commercial comes on or the show ends, the kids can't even think about getting up and doing something else, they are hypnotized. :p Such blasphemous thoughts of getting up while the show is on doesn't enter the mind of the average tot. :p
Im gonna let my kids watch Wondershozen.
