What up, bitches?! The New York Yankees just won the 2009 World Series, their 27th championship!
This was the Yankees first championship since 2000 and their first appearance in the World Series since 2003. This is their first season in the new stadium and what a way to break it in.
Although, an interesting little fact, the Yankees haven't won a World Series under a Republican president since Eisenhower. So, if you're a Yankees hater, well, you should probably blame Palin. And if you're a Yankees fan, as it is only natural to be, you should be thanking your lucky stars for Barack Obama.
But really, this is about how good it feels to be a Yankees fan right now. Everyone else can just suck it! Pow pow!
I'm going off to do my victory dance all day. If you want to know what my victory dance looks like, it's kind of a cross between the MC Hammer dance, Yosemite Sam firing off his pistols, various shimmys, and Job's chicken impression from Arrested Development.
On a more classy note, it's only right to end this post how every Yankees victory at the stadium. Take it away, Frank:
How do you feel about Yankees' victory? a) The Yankees Win! The-e-e-e-e-e Yankees Win! b) All the haters better back off, A-rod finally got his ring. c) meh ... don't care. d) Why was glee interrupted for this? e) I HATE THEM! f) I'm a Red Sox fan so I'm weeping softly into my collection of David Ortiz' roided out pubes and banging my head against the wall because no one is talking about what this means for Red Sox fans and filling my massive needy complex.
I love living in the city, and i will most likely go to the parade tomorrow!
How about this choice: g) They're the best Drug Users Money Can Buy (Read: A-Rod, Pettite, and Chaimberlain.....not to mention former players Giambi, Clemens, and who-knows-who-else...).
I wish I had watched the game. I don't watch baseball but I hate I missed it. :(
looooooooooooooove the yankees.
a good friend of mine is going to school in philly and he's a diehard yankees fan. last night when the game was over he locked his door and hid under his bed because his roommate is a red sox fan and has no brain but a lot of muscles.... i think i'd better call him and make sure he's still alive lol.
WOOOOOOOOOO! YANKEES!!!!!
A! & that last one is quite funny. although matsui did great, i think mo deserved the mvp. mehh, whatever - they still won ! :D
baseball is boring to watch... hockey is where it's at - damn rights I'm Canadian!
fuck the yankees.
that is all.
YANKEES FTW! lol i like your finale with frankie!
g) for $250,000,000, you can buy a World Series too! -.-
soooo glad this world series is over! NY Mets, amazin' again, 2010! :]
E. E. Also, E.
A!! Only wish Mussina and Bernie coulda won it with them!
And Matsui for MVP! YEEEESSSS! Love those guys.
Boo.
YESSSS!!! Yankees ALL-THE-WAY!... Actually, I'm just glad someone won it so baseball can be over. Leaves more time on SC for hockey, you know, a sport with real athletes (only in baseball could someone like Babe Ruth or Ortiz be considered an athlete). I didn't even know the playoffs were going on until a few days ago. But to be fair, good job Yankees. In a sport where team loyalty means nothing (Johnny Damon, just to name one) and the biggest bank account is the most valued asset (every Yankees team ever), you won. Congrats.
E Phuck the Yankees! Phils will get em again.
@DarcKleer@xanga
hahahah aw You mad?
GO YANKEES The Bronx was on fire last night
Meh.
The Yankees used to have their AAA team where I live, so I used to follow their players. I have fond memories of Jeter, Posada, Pettite, Cano, and Rivera. I especially remember when Rivera threw his no-hitter in 95. So I'm happy for those guys. As for the rest of the organization... meh. Go Reds!
@mcmeister89 - In fairness, Ruth wasn't completely out of shape, and had good speed most of his career. Would you want the Bambino skating towards you when you had the puck in the corner?
@iJUST_ATEabug@xanga - Im a Mets fan too 2010 is def gonna be a better season! but dont forget the mets spent a lot of money too in 09, jj putz, johan santana to name a few players just bc they have the money doesnt mean it bought them a championship, the yankees have an amazing roster that im sure any other team in baseball would die for, they spent the money they had on some amazing talent, and as a side note anyone who says oh theyre a bunch of cheaters and steroid users, lets not forget the countless other players from from other sports and countless other ball players who have used performance enhancing drugs, -COUGH Bonds COUGH- -Sosa COUGH Canseco- COUGH- and yes even Arod admitted it, but dont forget we dont know the other players names that are on that list im sure we could all guess by looking at players stats from years past, but just bc the yanks spent the money in all the right places does not mean everyone should bash them the same thing could be said about any other team the Phils had a high roster payroll too
I would love A-rod more if he was back with the Mariners! But I'm glad the Yankees won :)
I'm a Phillies fan so I'm sad for my boys.
I hardly watched the postseason at all, except for the NLCS (because I took immense joy at watching the Phillies knock the Dodgers out), but in the end I'd guess I'd rather put up with Yankees fans yelling "27 rings!" than Phillies fans becoming Red Sox Nation V.2.0.
WOOOOO!! YANKEESS!! The Bankees finally brought it back to the Bronx.
The best thing about this, they repeated history...The last time the Yankees got a brand new stadium, they got a brand new world series title for it.
Sorry Phillies, no dynasty for you. Instead, This is the season of A-rod, and bringing the "gold" to a new stadium.
