Top Ten Unintentionally Gay Comments in NFL Color Commentary

A couple of years ago I was watching football and I accidentally had closed captioning turned on. I made great haste to vanquish this terrible beast, but before I got a chance to I noticed something about the text scrolling on screen. A lot of what Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were saying totally sounded like something that could be interpreted as super super gay when taken out of context. Upon making this discovery, I did what most people would do.

I laughed my ass off.

But then I took it a step further. I took screen-shots of the text scrolling across the screen of the potentially gayest out of context commentary. With that being said, I bring you The Top Ten Unintentionally Gay Comments in NFL Color Commentary:

10. "He hit the hole hard!"
9. "Wow he almost put it in there."
8. "He goes deep and gets it in!"
7. "Wow, look at that gaping hole. You can't ask for anything bigger than that."
6. "Those guys opened it up and took advantage."
5. "Going deep......SCORE!"
4. "He got his hands on that ball and was never gonna let go."
3. "Why don't they go deep?"
2. "He came way too late."

And last but certainly not least...The Most Unintentionally Gay Comment in NFL Color Commentary

1. "And he gets stuffed by three men!"

Lol..
It's typical that sports commentary can sound like sexual innuendo, but I prefer my friends' spontaneous "that's what she said" jokes. =)

my favorite was during a reffing call, the ref goes: "he's giving him the business down there!" haha. older people nowadays reflect that one cuz they think it's a stupid call, i'm like no.. giving someone the business is soooo different now.

My favorite was not in the NFL, but in golf. They were doing the Tiger Woods highlights on ESPN, and in just one hole, they used the following five terms:

1. choking down on a long iron
2. he's deep in the rough
3. he has a good stroke
4. it's in the hole
5. he gave it the old fist pump

How this made it past the censors, I'll never know.

You're not the only one. My husband, the sports fanatic, has a knack for finding every innuendo in a sporting event's commentary and responding to it with a 'giggity' or 'That's what she said,' or 'I'll ___ YOUR ____!'

No commentary beats NBA Jam for Sega Genesis. Most hilarious innuendos.. and being that its a video game the sound bites are limited.. so the repetition plays a integral role in the mass hilarity.

Ball Jokes are the best. You can write a ton on golf... but nothing is better then when you need to wash your balls on the course.
