6 Songs Dedicated to Women
You know what? We talk a lot about women these days, even discuss favorites, and so far, I just want to kick back and offer a tribute with a list of song dedicated to women, you never fail to both dazzle AND confound us. Just something for us men to show our appreciation to you.
Jay-Z "Girls, Girls, Girls"
Before he snagged Beyonce, Jay-Z could attest to loving women enough to actually write a grocery list of women that he knows, or probably planned on knowing at the time. This isn't a testament to whether men date a lot of girls, really. But just a testament to the fact that any girl can get some love. Yes, even you. Paranoid woman. Come from behind the door. There's nothing to fear. Come on...
Eels "Tremendous Dynamite"
This song basically pays tribute to the very fact that you know how to turn a man on and knock us out. (Don't pretend like you don't like an anthem where we romanticize how sexy you truly are.) Just listen to EE as he introduces himself as "el hombre lobo". A moment sooner, this is going to soundtrack the montage or a slow motion scene in your head, when a beautiful girl marches by.
Griffin House "The Guy That Says Goodbye To You Is Out Of His Mind"
I was mega-cheezed off when the woman that saw this the last time I put it on my site thought it was cheesy. What? A man can't prove the liveliness of chivalry with a song anymore?
The Pharcyde "Passin' Me By"
A man opens his heart, especially with the idea of spray painting it on the wall, and she doesn't notice. Story of the life of men who get friend zoned, huh?
A Tribe Called Quest "Bonita Applebum"
Even if some of you girls don't have an applebum, this song is written exactly from a man to the girl he hopes to pursue. Just when you think that a man is incapable of being more of a gentlemen on rap songs, "Bonita Applebum" shows you how it is done. So, if you will, pretend your boyfriend wrote it just for you, or somewhere a woman is writing for any woman here that is single.
Now for the final song that I think describes our feelings a little more than any...
Wild Beasts "All The King's Men"
From labeling you our candied queens, to acknowledging your ability to birth our men's babies, this song is pretty much what inspired my list for the girls out there, and is a song made to marvel to. Don't giggle.
So, women, here is our gift to you.
Don't say we never did anything for ya, okay? Can you think of any other songs that are dedicated to the power women have over men?

Pharcyde - Passin' Me By... that's one of my favorite songs of all time. haha
I love "The Guy That Says Goodbye To You Is Out Of His Mind". So glad you put it on the list (:
What about Beastie Boy's song, 'Girls?'
I hate Jay-Z.
What about "Girls" by Beastie Boys? lol.
Cameltosis by Korn.
Perfect Girl by The Cure. I think it's better than any slow song, any day!
@complicatedlight@xanga - There was supposed to be videos that I got from YouTube.
Man couch, what happened to the videos I put up?
Griffin House's "The Guy That Says Goodbye To You Is Out Of His Mind" is not cheezy! I just checked it out and it gave me a chuckle. It's really sweet.
Thanks for the list. I'm def. checking out the rest of these songs. :)
This made me really happy. Thank you.
@mynameisblueskye@xanga - There weren't any videos in the submission. next time put links to any videos you want embedded in your posts.
how about that pretty woman song? or that song that just sings 'she's so lovely'?
How many of these are about how good looking they are vs how good their hearts are? I commend having sentiment for women in general though. As I do. Let me know if what I have is appropriate to what you're getting at. If not, most of the list will be up soon in my profile anyway. Or as many as will fit. Though those that would sort of fit here won't be my entire list of favorites; nor will all of them be in my favorites.
I would offer a very long list of songs in my collection; but they're each written to or about one woman. So they're only appropriate when thinking about one woman in particular, or when daydreaming about loving one. They all come from a deep connection not having anything to do with looks or outward sexiness. The entire focus is on the emotional connection to the woman's heart, really.
If you want best of best in the Love song department, Benny Mardones should be at the top of your list. At worst, a tie with others.
You have bad taste in music.
@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - LOL....U SAID IT.
@erahslover@xanga - Omg I love hey there delilah also! :)
@jasonwl@xanga - wow. you kinda missed the point there. also, how many songs do you know of where the guy explicitly stays on topic about "how good the girl's heart is" that DOESNT put you to sleep? You can sing about mushy i love you stuff without it sounding like Karaoke. You you get major props for being old school and reviving benny mardones from the 80s tho. I just would've leaned more towards Bob Dylan or Phil Collins :)
@fLiPgUy31O@xanga - YES. one of the BEST songs ever! Before hip hop got over saturated with gangster crap and "look at my money" bullshit.
@OOMPAdefiined@xanga - high five :D
@raiderjester@xanga - haha i see what you did there.
@erahslover@xanga - that has got to be my all time favorite "woman" song. a lot of passion there, a lot of power.
@ShimmerBodyCream@xanga - @OOMPAdefiined@xanga - Damn! I knew I had bad taste when I hated American Idol and stopped watching MTV as a teen.
