  • Can you successfully date a stripper?

Many guys have fantasized about dating a stripper.

I am sure there are guys who have had successful relationships with strippers  but I always wonder if the relationship could last.

One thing is for certain you must eliminate all jealousy from your mind... it is a job and to be good at it they must flirt.

I think however you can take the girl out of the "strip club" but you can't take the "strip club" out of the girl.

    What do you guys think?

Mancouch says: I know a number of guys who have dated strippers, and one who married one.  The perhaps not-so-surprising truth about strippers is that their favorite movie is often Pretty Woman... they usually "want the fairy tale" and they're all too glad to leave the strip club.  YMMV.

Some are underground strippers........no one might know they do it ..!

  • TequilaKisses@xanga

Date as in an open relationship? Sure. Why not?

    @immaairheadxl@xanga - haha, nice!

I think it would be fun and interesting to learn how to strip dance once I got married. I would love to do that. That way, my man can have his own personal stripper.

@sparkletone1684@xanga - haha, thats how I feel. Im gonna have to buy one of those at home stripper poles. However im skeptical at how well those things hold up..

Does anyone have one of those? Are they secure?

quote: "...they usually "want the fairy tale" and they're all too glad to leave the strip club."

hmmm...i'm sure most strippers would be more than happy to leave their "job"...as long as they can go from one, so-called, "fairy tale"...to another. [aka. leeching off a "bewitched / lonely" man, that will shower them with gifts && money...] i mean, why go out and actually "work" for ur money, right? when u can get paid, just for being "female". screw having brains &&/OR an education!! -.-

the fact that girls become strippers/escorts/street-walkers/whatever, in the 1st place...should raise some serious questions, in any man, considering to "make a move" on one of these girls. i wouldn't be surprised, if most have daddy issues...that, or, they have extremely low self-esteem. OR maybe they're just money-hungry && love the attention they get from men, sadly misinterpreting it, for love/affection?! O.o personally, i don't believe in the whole, "i didn't have a choice..." -.- i say, where there's a will, there's a way!! >.>

but ANYwhoooo...i'm no psychologist && this is merely "my" opinion. && i'm well aware that there are exceptions to the rules. so yeah...toodlez!! ^^

One of my good friends has been with a stripper for years. They've had their issues, sure, they're only human, but that human agenda lets strippers have relationships just like anyone else. ;)

@@. I'm not too high on my horse to say that I haven't seriously considered stripping. Hey, I have dance training for one. But on a more serious note, college is damn expensive. Some people are caught in the middle as being "not in need of aid" in terms of government grants & loans , but still not well off enough to be able to obtain private loans. I have no shame in my body, depending on the establishment, its better than being a prostitute, not to mention legal. The economy sucks, jobs are hard to find, but stripping - thats pretty recession proof.

  • OngishLyOngLee@xanga

just lure the stripper with a dollar hanging in front of her.

  • Meowmeowkimmaee@xanga

I think it depends on whether the stripper is one by choice or by necessity.

  • pretend2fly@xanga

i have a good friend who was a stripper but her boyfriend made her quit... but she's not the kind of girl to stay home like that and she misses the club so she does it behind his back. i think she likes the attention and the flirting.
my ex dates only strippers (no idea why he dated me, i'm a jeans and t shirt conservative kind of girl) and he always wonders why his girlfriends are cheating whores... i'm like you don't find a good girl who respects herself and her body in a strip club. thats just my opinion but for me i would never date anyone who rubs their genitals and breast all over other people for money.

@wolvenchic@xanga - My sister takes pole dancing lessons and has her very own pole in her room (we call it Javier :D). It holds up fine! As long as you adjust it right. The place we bought it at adjusted it for us in fact.

Dating a stripper? Meh, why not I guess. Even strippers need love. ;]

  • laurasaurusrex@xanga

I spose, depends on the stripper.

  • lastlyfirst@xanga

It didn't work out for my brother, but then again she was just a horrible person in general.

  • ShimmerBodyCream@xanga

Sure, they are people like anyone else. Just depends on the guy and his morals. What he's okay with and not.

  • wolvenchic@xanga

@xenas_shortskirt@xanga - awesome! When the time comes, Ill see if they will adjust it for me! =D

  • ShimmerBodyCream@xanga

@Limbz@xanga - You are pointing out the fact that a woman willfully sexually objectifying herself shows the kind of person she is.

    I agree with that.

But you have to remember, not everyone is intelligent socially.

Would a socially intelligent person date a stripper? Probably not.

But I see how two "average" people could work out a relationship like that because everyone has their flaws...

  • LlothoftheDrow@xanga

Yepp, you can. One of my good guy friends just got married last week and she was a stripper for a very long time (She actually just quit a few months ago)

  • Parsimony@xanga

I wonder how much of the fantasy is more the guy's than the girl's.  The girl's job is not glamourous by any stretch of the imagination from the types of guys she meets on the job.  She probably is doing it just for the money.  It is just an occupation ie like Accounting.  Do you think Accounting can dictate how someone thinks or lives?  If possible then so can stripping.  I think strippers would have a worst impression of men rather then adhere to some fairytale about them.

  • tony_asian_tiger@xanga

In a short run, it will/can work, but in the long run it won't.  Not unless she quite being a stripper after settling down with you.  If she continues to strip after you guys start your lives together, then the relationship will not work, period.

So basically...ur choosing the "easy" way out... i highly doubt the recession won't allow work opportunities @ establishments such as, starbucks, mcdonald's, etc. all other college students are doing it, why can't u.

I had a friend who was one, and for her it was the only way she could put a roof over her head without going on welfare when her husband left her (no child support and the state did nothing). She had three small kids, a mortgage and she was a freshman in college but couldn't get aid because she had been married. She only had to work three days a week, which gave her time for homework and her kids.

  • erahslover@xanga

Depends on the girl, obviously. Is my selfesteem strong enough... again, depends on the girl and how serious I was about her. I'm pretty open minded.

  • yourblondeness@xanga

everybody's got to make their money....

  • evenfurther@xanga

I've known a lot of strippers and to be honest they are just women! It really depends on the fact of how the guy views it. I know guys who are just as threatened by the idea that I have to flirt as a waitress for better tips than others are by the prospects of being a stripper.
