I was heartened to read all the gratuitous bashing of Robert Pattinson in our recent post:
El_Prego_Nikki: I hate Rob Pattinson. He's a terrible actor and looks like a foot.
GiantUnicorn: He has no upper lip. He's too pale and hairy. And I heard he's dumb as a rock. Plus he looks like he's confused 99.9% of the time.
Awesome. But despite the chorus of Pattinson condemnation, one loyal Mancouch commenter (shoutout to emptyspiral) bravely asked, "argh why is this even on mancouch. YOU WIMMENFOLK GO GET YER OWN COUCH TO TALK ABOUT HAWT DUDERS."
Ah emptyspiral, we applaud you for your defense of Mancouch and your disgust of Robert Pattinson. But to answer your question as to why we were mocking him, the answer is simple:
- Twilight is annoying.
- Robert Pattinson starred in Twilight.
- Therefore, Robert Pattinson is officially annoying.
Skeptical? Just Google the phrase, "Robert Pattison douche":
57,800 results! Google doesn't lie... the guy is a douche. And it's our job here at Mancouch to make fun of douches. QED.

Sometimes I wonder if people genuinely hate him or just hate him because of all the money he's making. I like Rob & Twilight but I'm not obsessed to the point where I'm throwing myself all over him or getting Twilight tats.

While I agree with the idea that Twillight is annoying, and that Pattinson did indeed star in it, that doesn't mean he likes it. In fact, from what I've read on TVTropes, he hates Twillight.
Thus, I say that while Rob is definitely a douche, he's a douche to Twillight fans. So I applaud him.

The reason why I can't really call him a douche is because I don't know him well. I just think he wasn't the right guy to play Edward. I'm not a fan of his hair either, but it's his hair, not mine, so whatever.
I'm not as bothered by him as I am by Kristen Stewart. Unprofessionalism is not exactly a good thing.
