a handful of lists of women to replace her.
Something stood out about his lists as opposed to all the many others we posted/received. He listed each woman's astrological sign. This was curious to me, but I didn't really say anything about it. Then I saw he submitted a post talking further about signs.
He mentioned he was a Scorpio which made me smile in a "my brethren!" sort of way as I too am a Scorpio. But this focus on astrology got me thinking.
Being a rationalist I don't actually believe in astrology. Certainly not horoscopes or any sort of claim to fortune telling. I do believe (as there is some science to suggest) that when you are born can, to some extent, affect your personality. I in no way believe that it can define your personality nor that it necessarily has any effect. But mostly I just think it's some good, harmless fun. Like Valentine's Day or Christmas.
I also tend to enjoy reading things about my particular sign because to varying extents these descriptions actually do describe, quite accurately, varying personality traits I have tendencies for, which provides a certain thrill (hence the fun part I mentioned previously).
I still don't believe in it, though.

I used to be well into astrology when I was younger. In fact, I was actually heavily into them. But of course as I started gaining wisdom throughout years, I was ultimately convinced it's pretty much bullwocky. Nevertheless, I still find myself reading my horoscope from time to time for shitzus and kicks. It makes for an interesting read, but in no way should anyone really take this heavily.

And I believe in some aspects of it. None of that moon alignment stuff. I stick to the basic knowledge of your sign and Chinese astrology. They say Scorpios can be kind of argumentative in debates, can smell bullcrap from miles away, don't take relationships lightly, and are also the most sexual sign (which I thought better described Sagittarians than Scorpios, heaven forbid they meet together for a relationship. Haha!). But I have yet to discover some stuff in there.
Oh, and as it says on my description, I'm a Chinese Dragon. And the last year of the dragon is 2012, the same year of the supposed apocalypse. Anyone pay attention to that?
@ChildxIsxGrown_DreamxIsxGone@xanga - Yeah, if you go to any website of your choosing, the information about your astrological sign remains exactly the same on each website. But the horoscopes, on the other hand, can say absolutely anything in every paper, and can appeal to anybody's day. That's the only part I take pretty lightly.

I'm a Sagittarius , but I fit more of Leo. Since I study astrology as a hobby i've discovered that they're's more to the horoscopes what you read in the newspapers is only half of it. Not everyone know's that the planet's were in different signs at the time of our births but they're is something called the rising sign which to me is an extra personality that were given at birth. The sun sign is acutally what your learning to become. Do I believe in astrology? no because sometimes it doesn't fit at all with my rising or sun sign. But I only look at for fun , just to see what it says. In chinese astrology I'm the Fire Tiger.
