Before I get started I have to take issue with my own title. Anyone who partook in the wonders of creepy crawlers knows that is was not an easy bake oven for boys! Easy-Bake ovens sucked and creepy crawlers were awesome, end of story!
I really do miss creepy crawlers. For the uninitiated, creepy crawlers were a toy that allowed you to make toys! There is very little more awesome than that. If the bugs you made were actually Transformers, ok, that would be cooler, but not much else.
The process of making the creepy crawlers was taking these metal trays with the indent of some sort of bug or insect or creature that they gave you, filling it in with varying colored goop of some sort, and then putting it in the little creepy crawler oven they give you (it was nothing like easy bake oven! i swear! also, I miss the days when they would sell ovens to kids as a toy). A half hour later or so you had a new toy! A rubber creature of some sort.
My favorite creature was always the scorpion. I don't know why. Maybe it's because I'm a Scorpio? Hey, that's the best reasoning I've got. It could just be that the design for the scorpion was the coolest.
They actually made a TV show for creepy crawlers, Transformers style. Too bad the show sucked. I don't think I ever actually watched it, but if you can't get a kid who LOVES creepy crawlers like I did to sit down and watch it, well, you don't have a very good show.
I kind of want to look through my old stuff and see if I can find my old set. It'd probably be even more fun to play with now because I can actually follow the instructions myself and don't need my mom to do it (or worry about her catching me trying to play with an oven unsupervised) plus nostalgia.
I wonder if they still sell creepy crawlers.

I had an Easy Bake and a Creepy Crawler. Creepy Crawler was ALWAYS better. I do miss it.

No, but I miss the Easy Bake Oven. I never actually used it, but I would eat the cake batter. This made my sister look like an amazing Easy Bake chef even if she never cooked anything.
Oh man I loved Creepy Crawlers. Every Saturday my cousin and I would experiment with different color combos and what not. My favorite was also the scorpion.
And there was also an oven that made edible (although not good) creations: Queasy Bake Oven. Anyone ever had that? I did, but CC pwned the hell out of QBO.

Oh! Creepy Crawlers! I know I'm a girl, but I loved those! The one I remember most is the tiny spider, because I could stick them on windows and I thought they looked real.
I think my Dad has the set somewhere in his house. I kind of want to go find it now, if not to make me some creepy crawlers, to just reminisce in the smell of the thing. Does any body else remember the smell?
i made stuff with model magic. that stuff was the shit. i could make whatever i wanted from it without doing that stupid BAKING thing. baking is for wussies.

I think my mom threw my old one away because she was sick of finding scorpions and spiders in all of her drawers.
