Who is the King of Late Night?
Recently I asked the Mancouchurians who they preferred: Conan or Letterman.
It was a resounding win for the much beloved CoCo. However, there were a few posts that caught my eye. There were a number of Craig Ferguson advocates. This got me to thinking about who is the true king of late night.
Back in the 90s the late night wars were all about Letterman vs. Leno, but things have changed. It's silly to just have two in this battle in this day and age. There are so many more competitors now.
So, now the question is far more interesting. Who stands alone atop the hill as the one and only King of Late Night?
The list of competitors is as follows:
Conan O'Brien
David Letterman
Jay Leno
Jon Stewart
Stephen Colbert
Craig Ferguson
Jimmy Kimmel
or
I'm desperately trying not to vomit in my own mouth as I list his name, Jimmy Fallon

I love Conan O'Brien, he's hilarious!
Craig Ferguson is okay sometimes but he can be incredibly annoying. Just get on with the show already, you know?
What's wrong with Jimmy Fallon? Haha, he's not the best but you have to remember that not many people liked Conan when he first began hosting late night. He just needs to get the hang of it.

I feel bad for Craig Ferguson, for some reason. I think he's funny, though.

I'd vote for Conan, with Craig as a near second. My last would be Dave. I don't really find him all that funny.
Still voting for Craig Ferguson. Anyone who makes a speech about the deification of youth and stupidity in modern culture just to say "fuck the Jonas Brothers" has my vote.
My vote goes for the Scot! Er, newly American, Craig Ferguson.
@niltiaCmAI@xanga - @passingpluto@xanga - The Jimmy Fallon issue isn't just from the show, it's about his stint on SNL and his movies. He has never been funny. He looks directly at the camera and laughs nervously at his own jokes.

@nprospect - Yeah, you're right. He was always the first one to laugh on SNL. Sometimes it was endearing and sometimes just annoying. But, I do love Fever Pitch. = ]

While I do like Conan, I prefer the Daily Show. Colbert is good, but is a bit too obnoxious sometimes. And cmon, Craig Ferguson is awful, he is right up there with Jimmy Fallon who may be the worst last night show host ever.
@nprospect - Well, mate. C'mon. Acting is different from hosting(okay. maybe not by a league, but still.) I actually have to agree with you that his acting sucks. But maybe once he finds his interview/stand-up style he'll be better.
IMO, give him a year.
