Kissy Pose
What's up with the "Kissy Pose"? It's the most ridiculous photo setup in the world: Hold the camera at arms length, twist your head to the same side as the camera, make a kissy face, and shoot the picture. Apparently you get extra points for wearing huge sunglasses, get your entire arm in the shot, or raising your eyebrows to a sufficient level. I don't understand the picture to start with, but the pose, the fact that you're alone, (or worse have someone else in the background) and that it is purely for show makes this setup really hard for me to grasp. Need a picture of yourself to chronicle something? Set the timer, hit a decent pose, or whatever, and don't look too stupid.

Why is a girl in the second picture put her hair like that so it looks like she has a mustache? It's funny how girls think that this pose is actually cute and they get smug about it. If they were coming at me with that face, I wouldn't want to kiss them! Furthermore, it's one thing to have a picture of you like that, but several? Lame!

@coolmonkey@xanga - But there`s an art to taking photos of food. If you`re drooling just looking at the digital version, I say that person did a fantabulous job.
I find it annoying, but only when done on a regular basis. I think everyone indulges in funny/goofy photos once in a while.

spontaneity. a confused brain wondering what it should do. quick think. i can smile but that's too cliche. i can frown but it brings negative energy to the pic. let's go with something in between. so it's nothing more than crap what should i do...happy medium.

Yeah, I'm not a fan. It's okay if you use it for one picture, but when it shows up in every single one, it just makes you look ridiculous, like no one taught you how to smile.
HOHO. I can't do the kissy pose, my lips aren't pouty enough. I have 2 sisters and they lurrrrrrrrrrve doing the kissy pose which drives me up the wall. When they invite their girl friends for camwhoring - they will all do the kissy pose together. ARGHHHH!!!
