  • Loud Sex and Neighbors

I was reading this article on Just A Guy Thing, and (after I stopped laughing at the situation) I started thinking about it.

On one hand, I can imagine having to explain what those scary sounds coming from the neighbor's house are to your 7 year old daughter. And being kept awake because it's loud and is preventing me from getting any sleep. But on the other hand, does anyone have a right to tell the couple to keep it down? They seem to be willing to cooperate, and they even tried a few things to reduce the noise.

I know that playing loud music after a certain time in the evening is not allowed, and police can intervene in that case. But if the couple can't help it? Playing a radio loud is something that you control, and something that you can change at the push of a button. In the case of loud sex... as anyone who is loud in bed would know, pushing buttons only helps increase the volume. That doesn't seem like something that can be helped or controlled. Either way, though, it's being loud after a certain time, which is.. not allowed.

...Then again, it's not right for either family to have to move.

This seems like such a lose-lose situation. The more I think about it, the less I'm sure about how it should have been handled.

What do you guys think? How could this problem be solved?
