  • The Real World: Superhero Edition

I did a post about a month or two ago about Spider-Man and Batman in an epic battle, and who would win. And being me and my strange nerd fantasies, I imagined what would happen if all the Superheroes lived in a secret, luxury apartment, and I had to make a post about it to discuss it.

    The heroes participating are:

    Spider-Man

    Batman

    Robin (Yes, he counts)

    Ironman

    Wolverine

I imagine that Batman and Robin would be the ultimate bromance, and be each other's wingmen (get it? haha =D) when at the clubs.  Spider-Man would be caught in the middle because Wolverine and Ironman are their own clique but they're too powerful, and Batman and Robin are BFFs so he mostly spend his days on the phone, talking to Mary Jane who's secretly cheating on him with Wolverine...

So, what do you think would happen in a day of the life of superheroes living together?

what no female super heroes? or black superheroes? or even an alcoholic superhero like the punisher?

Why didn't you just replace Robin with Nightwing?

Anyway, does Iron Man have to be in his suit the whole time? 'cause I'm sure he'd score all the girls if he wasn't. Haha.

Wolverine would be awesome to watch to see how many drunk idiots try and mess with him.

@sonychak@xanga - ha ha! Yes, that's his main superpower. :D

spider-man would become evn more of a man whore other then that it would be pretty epic

Isn't this essentially the idea behind either the Justice League or even the Avengers? The way I see it, we're grouping together an entire cohort of individuals who are a) relatively reclusive, b) egotistical, c) slightly eccentric/off-kilter, and d) stubborn and opinionated. The only one perhaps who doesn't quite fit that list is Spiderman, but he's got his own personal issues to deal with. Admittedly, this might make great television, but there is no way the series would survive for more than a couple of weeks at best.

And yet, I suspect it would be fascinating to watch; sort of like watching a fuel tanker explode in the middle of a used car lot.

A bunch of superheroes living together? Isn't that what the X-Men do?

This would be a great sitcom. It'd be like if Friends had EXPLOSIONS.

Ok so maybe I just wanted to comment regardless of whether I had anything good to say.

I'm guessing there's gonna be a lot of puns thrown back and fourth

And the eventual marvel team up/crossover where they form a house alliance to vote out batman and robin, because there sexuality makes the rest of the house uneasy.

Now THAT would be a reality show I'd watch! Because their personalities are bound to grate on each other, and it would be entertaining to watch the dynamics.

Batman and Wolverine have similar personalities in that both are more reclusive characters who don't say much, are generally more fearless/reckless than the others, and whose sense of morals are a tad more lax than the others as well. For instance, I can see either of them willing to kill in order to do their jobs, if not for societal laws. I think they'd both be wary of each other in close proximity, however.

Robin would be a less-developed personality intermixed with all the grown-ups, so to speak. He'd be the harmless sidekick who everyone would get along with for the most part unless he got in their way.

Ironman could technically blow up the entire place they'd be staying at with just a press of a button in his suit. So maybe they'd tiptoe around him to begin with? But I think he'd be the roommate who was gone half the time anyway, simply because he's out busy hooking up with the ladies.

And Spidey, I think, would clash with a lot of the other superheroes simply because of his personality--he has a good sense of humor that both Batman and Wolverine lack (even though I love them to death otherwise!) and his moral code is different. It brings me to mind when Batman couldn't get along with Superman because the latter seemed to evoke weakness simply because he was less harsh in dealing with criminals.

Yeah, I wrote an essay on this--it's 11 in the morning and I had nothing better to do than sit and philosophize about superheroes... :D

Let's face it, someone's going to get hurt on those claws... one day Wolverine gonna impale one of those guys. Spiderman's going to leave cobwebs behind, Batman's gonna keep runnin' into stuff since he's blind as a bat, Robin's gonna- well, what do robins do?- and Ironman's so heavy he's just gonna fall through the floor.

Me personally? I'll be sharing an apartment with Wonderwoman in the hopes that the "wonder" doesn't imply the type of brassiere she wears....

  • BunnyParfait@xanga

Didn't Robot Chicken already do this?

  • greenjacket99@xanga

Okay, I am a huge fan of Spidey and have been keeping tabs on his recent comic book adventures via www.spiderfan.org.   Whoever wrote this article obviously is not familiar with the current mainline continuity ("Brand New Day"): Mephisto has erased Peter Parker's marriage to Mary Jane and everyone else's memory of his secret identity (in the mainline Marvel Universe, that is).  So Spidey wouldn't be calling MJ all the time, and even if MJ was still involved romantically involved with Peter, then she wouldn't cheat on him with Wolverine because Logan's not her type.

  • striemmy@xanga

Depends on if they're in costume the whole time and if they know eachother's secret identities. I imagine Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne would hit it off pretty famously. Robin/ Nightwing and Spiderman would also probably hit it off pretty well. Wolverine, in costume or not, is always a lone wolf.

  • striemmy@xanga

@greenjacket99@xanga - But she is Logan's type and he's quite persistent.
