I recently saw Ratatat when they came to the House of Blues in Boston and it was one of the most amazing live shows I've ever seen. Muse at the Agannis Arena two summers ago was pretty spectacular too. So I got to thinking, if I only had the chance to see one band live for the rest of my life, who would it be? Even better, what if it could be a band that no longer existed, like the Beatles?
So I'd like to hear from you guys. If you could only see one band or performer (living, dead, together, or broken up) for one show in your life, who would it be?
Here's some music to listen to while you comment.

Aw dude, that's a hard one... I have a few...
I'd have to say Janis Joplin, Daft Punk, Led Zeplin, Mindless Self Indulgence (again), Bauhaus, Siouxie and the Banshees, Jefferson Airplane... fuck there's so many. But my main pick is Janis Joplin or Bauhaus. I guess it would depend on my mood too. Like if I was really hyper, I'd probably say Daft Punk or MSI 'cause they're a really energetic show... but I dunno man. Fuck you for coming up with such a toughie lol.
The Beatles, easiest choice ever for me =)
The Grateful Dead with Jerry Garcia, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, and the Beatles, for sure. I would say Phish but they got back together and are touring again, saw them in June and seeing them again in August! Wahoo!
Sorry Mancouch. I know you only said one but...its hard.
ABBA
I would want to see some current bands back when they were just starting out:
Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Opeth
I would love to see these guys perform their early work when it was new =)
Queen. Just cause I wanna see Freddie Mercury gyrate and, well, do everything, again.
Tupac Shakur. No contest.
STORY OF THE MOTHER FUCKING YEAR!
:]
nirvana.
I love One Republic, I never get tired of their songs. I would choose the Beatles, Justin Nozuka, or Boys II Men too cuz they never get old to me.
blink 182
and im going this summer =]
I love Ratatat, I'm jealous, I missed out on their last show around here for work =[
Hmmm, well my favorite band is the Red Hot Chili Peppers, but I've already seen them...hmm alive or dead. This is way hard. I'm going to say Hendrix, I think that would be a fun show.
two words: Bon Jovi.
I would like to see the Ramones New Years Eve 1977 in London.
John Denver, or early Elvis. I've actually commented before that I really want to have a time machine just to go see concerts.
i'd see Pearl Jam. they have a huge catalog and cover a shitload of songs as well so they can play 5 nights in a row with totally different setlists for every show. a lot of bands, even those with big catalogs basically stick to their guns when they perform live. Pearl Jam has never been that type of band. They break out some pretty rare songs during some of their shows. plus, they are incredible live!! I still remember the 3 shows they played in Mansfield, MA in 2003. they basically played three 3 hour shows and an acoustic set, only repeating one song, "Yellow Ledbetter"!!
futtin' sweet!!
There's no choosing just one.
The White Stripes - Blackpool Lights
Augustana - The Bat Club
Jay - Z - Madison Square Garden
Of Montreal
Ludacris
I'm still kicking myself because I didn't see the Red Hot Chilli Peppers when they came to fresno... They were promoting Stadum Arcadium... My friend had tickets in the second row from the stage... but I had work... I REALLY hope they tour again...
i'd love the chance to experince a michael jackson concert. (in his glory days)
Fellow Ratatat fan : )Â
I would definetely see Michael Jackson just for the moonwalk, and 'cause he's dead.
