Based on my personal experience, my sense is that's a myth. But let's take it to Mancouch and hear what you guys have to say.

I've heard this sort of thinking a lot, including from posters like this:

tramp stamp lower back tattoo who is a virgin. She says that the location doesn't mean anything, and it was just a popular tattoo in the late 90's and early 00's. Her logic:
- lower back tattoos are easier to hide when wearing formal clothes, and
- they don't stretch out if you gain weight or get pregnant.
And besides, where else on the human body can you cram this much text?

Meh, I've got a "tramp stamp" and a 4 gauge tongue piercing, and I'm not a tramp. I'm married! Though my husband definitely appreciates the tongue ring and the tattoo, it's only for him, not for my entire city, y'know?

Maybe it's NJ, but there are soooo many actual tramps with the stamp it's ridiculous. The spot has been ruined for me, I don't think I've met a girl with one, who wasn't a whore.
I've only seen one tattoo back there that is actually good (DJ from NY), the majority of the designs are so ridiculously lame. Stars or tribal...so original.

How 'bout we find some piercings/tattoos that make people thing a guy is sleazy? That would be more interesting haha. Everyone's heard of these tramp stamps and so on. It's just some stupid thing made up by lameoids.
I dont think it automatically makes you a slut but a majority of the girls who get tattoos there end up being pretty promiscuous. lol.
I think it's just a spot. It's easy to hide. I think why some call it a tramp stamp is because girls show it off with low cut jeans and high cut shirts...double if the thong is peaking through. In general though, the position isn't trampy.

It doesn't automatically make you a tramp any more than wearing top dollar clothes labels makes you rich, but that's the stereotype. There are plenty of non-visible places to get a tattoo, so if you are going to show off a lower back tattoo, expect that people are still going to call you a tramp.
Is it not possible that the lower back is just a really easy/convenient place for a tattoo to be placed?

If it's an original tattoo, I'd say #2. But if it's unoriginal, and you know she only got it there to be "sexy" I'd say #1.
