When Men want to look Manly™
So, someone posted this question on Mancouch: Is it wrong for guys to wear make-up? The last line on that post: "Mancouch says: Yes." In the mainstream American culture, men and 'makeup' do not go together.
HOWEVER...no one would deny a guy the right to put on eye black,
or paint their face in camo colors...
or plaster their team's logo (or a letter of their team's name) on their big belly.
I guess men's makeup is eye black, camo face paint, and the team colors.
Mancouch says: Look if you want to wear makeup, wear makeup. Whatever you do, just do it with confidence.

Okay the football eye paint and camo paint is all good. Sorry, but if you're going to paint your body red (or any other color) for team spirit, yes, it's a manly thing to do, but you also look like a complete idiot.
that last guy... ehh.
glare grease, camo, make up, it's all good.
hey girls don't hate on that last dude just cuz he's fat.
@atmaster@xanga - lol, it's not because he's fat. it's the cracked, peeling neck paint and the sunburnt oompa loompa look.
First off, correct me if I'm wrong, the eye black is so the athlete can see better. Doesn't it cut down on glares or something like that? So it is for a functional reason to play a sport which is his job.
Second, the camo paint is for the military personel to blend into his surrounding and to be more difficult to be seen. So it is for a functional reason to help save his life.
The third one, well, it is for a short time to help supply moral support to his favorite team. It is kinda like wearing a team jersey.
The problem with all three of these is that they are not done everyday to improve one's looks. They have other reasons as to why they are done. Not for vain reasons.
i dunno the futbol playur & the soljah both look pretty gay to me the maykup might be fungshunul but it wuzza plied with totul finesse
az for contestent #3 who duz he thaynk he iz hester prynne
why does mancouch always sound like a condescending doucher in their comments?
i love you, mancouch... but i think... you need to go to tool academy.
grease paint, camouflage paint, painting yourself up because you love your team don't count as makeup like women/homosexuals/rockstars/emokids/whatever wear.
that last one is acrylic paint in all likelihood, and not makeup at all.
is it wrong for men to wear makeup? no, not really. (hell, maybe some men should) everyone's perception will be different though.
@pansybradshaw@xanga - lol, yes Bradshaw, he is so obviously a Hester Prynne wannabe. To the scaffold!
@xthread@xanga - repent for offenses agaynst fashion & gud tayste hahahahahahahahaha
oh hells no
None of the three are "makeup" in the vanity sense since they all serve a practical purpose, are not worn every day, and don't make the wearer look any more attractive. Fail original post.
@beetunes@xanga - well that would explain why they have been featuring a lot of Tits&Ass posts as of late.
This isn't really quite makeup. Although I do rather like eyeliner on guys... (if done right!!)
@FogOfConfusion@xanga - I am in complete agreement with you.
the original post was about guys wearing makeup, women's makeup, to improve their looks. the men in these pictures shouldn't even be compared to the guys from the other post. some will disagree and call me shallow again (even though i'm not saying anything bad about wearing makeup this time), but i'll tell you why its different and its not because its "functional''. Jeremy Shockey is wearing eyeblack, but its not even the original eyeblack made of vaseline and wax, its a couple of dull black stickers. look closely at the picture and you'll see the one under his right eye is peeling off. The soldier and the sports fan are wearing paint. not eyeliner, not foundation, not any other kind of makeup... its paint.
Either way, if a man wants to rock the make up. Let him do as he pleases.
I would love to see a guy in war paint outside of a stadium. Just once.
