  • Tony Jaa vs. Jackie Chan vs. Jet Li

I recently asked the mancouch ranks if Tony Jaa was the new Bruce Lee. The answer in the comments section was a resounding "NO! LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! NO, NO, NO, YOU'RE ALL WRONG!"

I concede defeat, but an interesting discussion did break out in the comments and that was comparing Tony Jaa to Jackie Chan and Jet Li.

So, this got me to wondering, which one of these martial arts masters would win in a fight? Now, Jet Li is 46 and Jackie Chan is 55 while Tony Jaa is only 33 so it's not exactly a fair fight. That's why we're going exclusively by the "in their prime" standard.

Personally, I'm going with Tony Jaa, but that may be my mancrush for him overwhleming the fury of Jet Li's Wushu. But let's see what you guys think.

And if you don't know who Tony Jaa is (and some out there still don't) google the hell out of him right now. It's the least you could do for yourself today.

In their primes, who would win in a 3-way battle royale: Jet Li, Jackie Chan, or Tony Jaa?

@justaloner@xanga - limited to arms and legs like jaa??...WTF r u talking about have u seen the last scene from Ong Bak where he uses swords, shaft, wooden planks and what not....and what about that scene from Tom Yum Goong...where he beats his opponents with elephant bone...ELEPHANTS BONES for Christ's sake...
Tony Jaa...the guys is a combination of bruce lee, jackie chan, and jet li.....he fights...even while he's in character HE FIGHTS....all his stunts are real...his stunt team take real punches (of course they r highly trained n padded)..my point being, there is no camera trickery in his work, no string attached, n certainly no doubles.....he's the real deal. In Mu Thai...its not only about strength...its about how you apply that strength effectively....Tony Jaa is quick, strong and agile. The guy can kick over 12 feet high, he can slide under a real car (without touching the floor with his hands), he can crack your head open with his elbows...his weaponry skills are out of this world (watch the last fight in Ong Bak - he uses the shaft, sword, wodden planks..everything). Plus the guy is physically well built, tall, flexible n tough....he also meditates before he fights (Buddhist Style).....he is acrobatic....skillfull....n above all frickin dangerous!!! He not only hurts his opponent, he can actually kill with Mu Thai!!

he's just a fucking actor, and a bad one, but I agree, perhaps he could kill, a fly or a cockroach with insecticide in hand.

  • sanglama

@KirkMain - i bet he could whoop your ass.....wait he could probably kill u...like a fly!!

  • fairfighter

@sanglama -  Great for him, so, let's give him a big award for that! it seems that is the only thing he or you could aspire , to kill people, what a pathetic being

jackie chan would win,  if we are talkin about useless flashy moves then tony jaa is the one doin it.  all his flip kicks and stuff are just for show. if he tries one of them on lee or chan then he would get dropped. you cant compare him to greats like chan and lee. jackie is a performer on screen but shouldnt be recognized as anything less than a martial artist. he has done like a hundred movies with the fastest and most elaborate choreography ever seen in kung fu movies and doing so has caused him numerous injuries. that stuff has to prepare a guy for a real fight and in their primes, jackie was probly fastest. jet lee would no doubt put a good fight, and he did master wushu while its true that jackie isnt quite the master of anything but more than adequate for many of them. and jets championship titles are for putting the best show, those moves arnt useful in a real fight.

so jackie would win, just go watch his early movies and see him when hes mad..  jet has more mastery of his art but would lose because realistically it wouldnt matter that much..

and jaa is good for show but his movies suck, they are all the same and would get pwned by chan
