I recently asked the mancouch ranks
if Tony Jaa was the new Bruce Lee. The answer in the comments section was a resounding "NO! LALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU! NO, NO, NO, YOU'RE ALL WRONG!"
I concede defeat, but an interesting discussion did break out in the comments and that was comparing Tony Jaa to Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
So, this got me to wondering, which one of these martial arts masters would win in a fight? Now, Jet Li is 46 and Jackie Chan is 55 while Tony Jaa is only 33 so it's not exactly a fair fight. That's why we're going exclusively by the "in their prime" standard.
Personally, I'm going with Tony Jaa, but that may be my mancrush for him overwhleming the fury of Jet Li's Wushu. But let's see what you guys think.
And if you don't know who Tony Jaa is (and some out there still don't) google the hell out of him right now. It's the least you could do for yourself today.
In their primes, who would win in a 3-way battle royale: Jet Li, Jackie Chan, or Tony Jaa?

Jet Li =D
I think Tony Jaa is the most athletic, Jet Li probably has the most precision, but in the end I'm giving it to Jackie Chan because the guy simply understands that all that fancy shit doesn't help in a fight. Jackie Chan can take hits in a way the other two cannot. Plus I think he's the most well rounded. Jet Li and Tony Jaa can kick your ass and look good while doing it, but Jackie Chan understands that the best punches and kicks are the simple ones.
So While Tony jumps in the air to elbow Jackie in the head, Jackie simply delivers a quick simple kick to the gut. While Jet is twilring his stick around, Jackie simple pokes him in the face with his own stick.
Jet.
People seem to forget about Chia Hui Liu(Gordon Liu)Still dont know who he is? Look him up.Throw him into the mix and see what you get.No way! Screw all these other answers! JACKIE CHAN ALL THE WAY!!!!
Tony Jaa
I'll have to look up this Tony Jaa, but for now, I would say Jet Li (I have always liked him better than Jackie Chan with respect to his fighting skills and style).
I have to respect Jet Li as a fighter. He is nearly unmatched.
But there is no guessing who will win in any given fight. Victory is as much luck and intuition as it is skill.
I was always a Jet Li fan growing up, so my vote goes to Jet Li.
hmm......tony jaa's talented but he cant compete with wushu or jackie's high experience.
Jet Li can pick up Motorcycles and smash people with em. But no seriously... this is dumb.
@free2chuze@xanga - the only thing is though, out of actual rankings of real muay thai, tony jaa does not stack up, hes a good performer that is all. They are all really good at putting on a show, however Jet li has shown a lot more versatility in his application, Jackie chan is an acrobat as we all understand, and tony jaa only does muay thai, and i must say ive seen all his movies, he re-uses the same moves quite a bit. If I had to say, i would go with jet li, but i only count these people as performers, their application of martial arts is hard to measure when people come and fall down for movies, especially when mainstream martial arts competitions are jokes anyway. Sorry for the cynical comment, I just only got love for Bruce lee, creator of the way of the intercepting fist (JKD) when it comes to real martial arts.
umm im placing my money on..45-cal M1911
tony jaa
Donnie Yen is the man of the game, one top of his powerful strikes, he is a well trained GRAPPLER.
When the fight goes to the ground , there will be no more fight anymore.
I'm going to go with Jet Li. Jackie Chan is all defense. And Tony Jaa's strikes aren't as brutal as Jet Li's
tony jaa would be like jaaaaaa, then beat them both...at the same time
Jet Li!
BRUCE LEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@beforedawn@xanga - I'll place my money on a Navy SEAL or SAS.
I say Jackie Chan, if for no other reason than I've liked him the most.
@Jackassbobby112@xanga - have to agree, any professional fighter will say the same as well..its one thing to fight for points.. a whole other thing to fight for your life and to be trained for such...
but..as for movie fights..match them all up with best movie skills and have em all three fight..jackie chan and jet li would remain and then its up to best pratfalls for Finnish and winner... loves jet li but has a thing fer jackie chan...ever since i watched him in a fight while dancing on top of bottles... And That THING is a proper manly type man thingy here girls... sheesh...
@B2yan_C@xanga - I stand corrected. Jackie Chan'll win, but I still like Jet Li better =P
definitely jet li. he'll just be using the wooden umbrella on them. of course, jackie would resort to the wine drinking and all but that's what the umbrella is all about.
Tony Jaa for me :)
