Does the stereotype of men needing to look masculine prevent them from looking their best as well?
Will we be judging guys who wear make up because we think of it as a feminine product, used only by females?
Is it wrong for full grown men to wear say, a foundation so their skin looks smooth and glowing? How about some concealer to hide away those nasty breakouts we might have? Or, what if we wanted to emphasize our eyes with a little eyeliner?
Is it wrong for guys to wear these cosmetics based on what media perceives as acceptable and what's not?
Your mind will probably think that if a guy wears make up, they have to be gay, but why? Does someone wanting to look good, regardless of gender, instantly become judged and looked down upon?
Guys want to look good too. Maybe you'll think that only girls are the ones who are trying, but guys are too. We wake up early enough to get the perfect strands of hair up with gel, the right amount of shaving to be done, and the right outfit. What difference is it from a female? Why can't guys wear make up and be proud of it?!
What do you think? Is it wrong for guys to wear make up?
Mancouch says: Yes.

@huu_am_eye@xanga - @annawolfy@xanga - thank you :] you're two of the few people I saw commenting that actually made sense.
Guys wearing make-up = NO.
@huu_am_eye@xanga - fine i'm shallow, but men shouldn't wear makeup, simple as that. i have never seen a maybeline commercial that said ''maybe HE'S born with it... maybe its maybeline''. wanna know why, cuz its not made for men its made for WOMEN!!
@C_UNIT42@xanga - so were pants and shorts originally. o and can't forget how men were allowed flat soled shoes first. its not that i'm on the side of make up, cuz personally i don't wear it, but i'm not against sharing certain aspects and im not for stereotypes.
Well thats a view i have never really thought of... But to be quite honest i wouldn't mind if my bf wore make-up.Some guys (ehhrrmm Robert Pattinson) look better when they have make-up on and i would at the drop of a hat marry Adam Lambert!! *sigh* So no! Its the draggy eyeshadow and lipstick that makes me think! But i love it when a guy is confident enough with his sexuallity to wear make-up when many guys are even to afraid to smash their masculinity with some lipbalm!! GO GUYS WHO WEAR MAKEUP!!
it's soooo wrong.
i'd be lying if i said i hadn't covered up a zit or awkward sunburn on occasion, but i don't use anything regularly
(on that note, i'm not sure Zach Effron was the best picture to use for this post. it's definately possible for guys to wear make-up without looking like a fruit)
@harmonyminusmelody@xanga - I was really hoping the explanation of that phrase would be more creative than that. -.-
I don't like guys with make up except
-the occasional guyliner
-chapstick
I don't think it's wrong at all!
I mean, women do things all the time that are considered 'manly' things. Why is it so wrong for it to be flipped?
My best friend used to use my make up all the time, and it never phased me. More power to the guys manly enough to admit (if only to friends), that they wear make up. :)
@JordanneElizabeth@xanga - I agree totally with that!
i think its perfectly fine if a guy wants to wear make up
he dont gota b gay or anything
if he wants to lok his best them let him
i find guys wearin make up sexy!!
Yes. Well... it's not "wrong", society will tell you that. But it's... ick. Unattractive... I like a man, not a fairy.
Yes, imho.
I don't want my guy to wear more makeup than I do.
...
I only ever wear eyeliner/mascara occasionally. maybe if I wore more, it'd be different. xD But just as a rule, i don't want a guy who takes more time than me: fixing his hair, getting dressed, wearing makeup, etc.
nitestar2@xanga: Why not? The Egyptians and the Greeks have worn the guyliner for centuries, right? Even gladiators wore the guyliner and nobody mistook them for sissies.
Ditto
To be honest I think using concealer and foundation is way more feminine than eyeliner and I'm not a huge fan, though dudes reserve the right to do what dudes do.
black Nail Polish/Eyeliner/mascara=sexy
Anything else= going to far imho
