Does the stereotype of men needing to look masculine prevent them from looking their best as well?
Will we be judging guys who wear make up because we think of it as a feminine product, used only by females?
Is it wrong for full grown men to wear say, a foundation so their skin looks smooth and glowing? How about some concealer to hide away those nasty breakouts we might have? Or, what if we wanted to emphasize our eyes with a little eyeliner?
Is it wrong for guys to wear these cosmetics based on what media perceives as acceptable and what's not?
Your mind will probably think that if a guy wears make up, they have to be gay, but why? Does someone wanting to look good, regardless of gender, instantly become judged and looked down upon?
Guys want to look good too. Maybe you'll think that only girls are the ones who are trying, but guys are too. We wake up early enough to get the perfect strands of hair up with gel, the right amount of shaving to be done, and the right outfit. What difference is it from a female? Why can't guys wear make up and be proud of it?!
What do you think? Is it wrong for guys to wear make up?
Mancouch says: Yes.

Yes...
I don't think there's anything wrong with guys wearing makeup. It can be a way to hide imperfections, or a form of self-expression. Why should we women have a monopoly on that?
yes and no, i guess. some musicians look great wearing eyeliner...but full-blown-made-up on a regular guy? not so much...
MEN ARE NOT ALLOWED TO WEAR MAKE-UP!! IT IS FORBIDDEN!
I DON'T WEAR MAKE-UP, YOU DON'T WEAR MAKE-UP!!
Leave to all the high maintenance women.
-barfs-
As most people have said, only concealer to hide breakouts.. no farther.
my friend covers up his pimples with a concealer stick. at first it irked me a bit, but then i was like "it's better than seeing spots of pus." so i don't really mind.
but if it goes to the extent where he just slathers foundation all over his face...no.
I wear make up. Eye liner. I am the most masculine dude you will ever meet. If you think this is all ew gross or whatever. What about tattoes? Sure, some look hot when you're young. But you'll look disgusting as you get older.
@Peridot21@xanga - That's because you have to be hot as Hell in order to pull it off.
not wrong exactly. just weird...but to each his own.
@KissKisstime2die@xanga - yezzz...hottt...true that
@Peridot21@xanga - Yep. ;)
A face and a body doesn't make a man, only his heart and soul.
guycealer !!!
well if its for like some special event and he wears like a bit eyeliner or he's a movie star,then i think it's fine.if it was for everyday use..i guess it's fine too.i just probably wudnt like it :/
Are you asking if its morally correct for a man to wear make up? To that I say you're an idiot.
Its very common for men to wear "make up" like concealer, foundations, etc. People who have social stigmas against men who do are just ignorant. If you can fix your ugly face, why can't everyone?
A lot of the comments reflect whether or not the girl would like it. Uh hello? Who the fuck is thinking about you? When I put on make up I don't do it for guys I do it for myself, so why the fuck would they do it for you?
Imbeciles.
no, it is not wrong for guys to wear make-up.
@BunnyParfait@xanga - i completely agree.
"yes"
i love you mancouch
I guess its okay to cover up a blemish, but its weird for everyday guys to wear eyeliner.
@C_UNIT42@xanga - Agreed.
I don't think guys should wear make-up, but hey, that's my personal opinion.
I don't know what it is but the eye liner on a guy drives me crazy... I absolutely love it. But I am a well known weirdo so I guess that's why.
@C_UNIT42@xanga - I agree!
I guess if your career field is in television, men have to put on some kinda powder to tone down the shine. If you're Billie Joe Armstrong in Green Day, it's OK, since that's the norm for that kind of stuff. Cross-dresser/tranny? Go for it.
Just hanging out? Whatever. It's your thing. But, I like my men manly. Make-up is not manly.
Well it seems like everyone has their own relative definition for right and wrong these days. But by my definition, I guess I agree with C_Unit42. I dont agree with making fun of anyone but I think life loses some degree of stability if we keep blurring the gender line. And to me that can only lead to more confusion. Men are men and women are women. Thats how it was meant to be or God would have just created women only.
It's not wrong at all.
Duh.
Personally, I don't think it suits me, except when I'm wearing stage makeup while working as an actor and even then, it's to disguise blemishes or to make my face visible under that bright bright spotlight and not to "add" anything. But that said, some guys have faces that complement enhancing makeup well and I say go for it.
Saying that men shouldn't wear makeup is like saying that men shouldn't wear pink. There are a lot of men out there who shouldn't do either, because they just can't pull it off, whether aesthetically or psychologically. But if you've got the look and the balls for it, then go for it.
If a guy spends more time in the bathroom than a girl, that's wrong.
No.
