• Cleavage FTW

  Check out how this web advertiser gradually added more cleavage, as they "optimized" the ad for clickthroughs. (via Coding Horror)
  
  First they started with this ad (which makes sense, for a flash-based game version of Civilization):
  
  
  
  Then the following ads were added in rapid succession (observant readers may or may not notice an increasing amount of cleavage - you have to look closely):

  I imagine that last ad has insane clickthroughs!  I wonder if users are disappointed after clicking on that ad and ending up on a flash-based version of Civilization?  I definitely would be.
  
  What kind of ads might we see in the future?  A few possibilities:
  

  • Animate the cleavage so that it moves and jiggles.
  • Create an animated flash game where you can poke the cleavage and win points.
  • Change the bra to a frontsie and let users unhook it with your mouse
  • Lose the bra entirely.

  Any other suggestions?   And what do you think of the ad campaign: a scandalous shame?  Or capitalistic genius?
