I have been obsessed with this video lately. It accomplishes a lot of things. It's well produced, talented, and hits on a beloved icon of my childhood. Yet, I still feel my level of love for this video. I just watch it and no matter how many times I've watched it already I get giddy and can't believe how awesome and covered in awesome sauce this video is. It just hits me in that right spot usually reserved for Batman, monkeys, robot dinosaurs, and Scarlett Johansson. It's just damn good. Here, look for yourselves:
i was pretty skeptical, but this video is strangely addictive!
wow its actually pretty good. I love this song..like the original but this is awesome too.
It's okay. I appreciate people who can remix video and music and have it sound good, but I just wish it weren't quite so repetitive and that the lyrics were understandable. It's a bunch of mashed together lines that don't make any sense. I had to turn it off after 2 and half minutes because it made me feel agitated and crazy.
That was good, but a bit to repetitive.
None the less it made me smile and have this strong urge to go watch Willy Wonka
That video made me want to both vomit and dance with excitement
I've heard other songs by this guy that are pretty good. This one is good too but annoyed me after a while, haha.
haha i love the original willy wonka too. the candies looks so sweet and delicious! no matter how many times i've watched it, it make me feel like a 5 year old all over again.
it was really choppy and repetitive. but the concept is cute.
@sarahb_86@xanga - too much mindless gibberish? doesn't that describe techno, dance, and trance?
@nprospect - lol, yeah it can. but in this case I am refering to the way it is cut and how the words are cut off to e more noise than actual words.
it's Pogo! Who, in my opinion, is awesome.
You should listen to his other songs. Alice may be my favorite, but this one's really good too.
@sarahb_86@xanga - Once again, couldn't that describe pretty much all techno, dance, and trance? these aren't exactly genres known for their lyrics. often any and all words involved are only selected as another instrument in the aural salad.
This is true, I guess this particular song just doesn't fit my particular tastes even within those genres.
It is different when it is a word or phrase that is being used as a whole to add to the instrumintation, and one that is cut up so bad that is is just annoying noise. I hope you get what I mean.
For example comparing Daft Punks "Superheros" to this. The phrase "Don't come near is repeated, but it goes along with the general beat of the song. Same with Around the World. In this video it is almost like it is added in simply for the ake of having noise. It just doesn't seem to fit. It would have been better to have made this a remix in which the lyrics are left alone and built on that.
This was Kind of painfull to watch. :/
I like the Mary Poppins one better.
good in theory... not so much in practice.
This pogo dude is fucking awesome, makes some tripped out stuff..
^_^ if you liked this, you should check out his songs Alohomora (harry potter remix) and Expialidocious (marry poppins remix) on youtube. His name on there is Fagotron. I've been a fan of his for some time now. I'm glad to see a person on here like him enough to post about it. He has quite the talent.
the candy shop guy looks like a pedifile, offering all those kiddies candy.
umm i dont like this video, i didnt even finish it. it annoyed me and gave me a headache
If there was a Lucy in the sky with diamonds feature film...this would make a good trippy theme song.

@methodElevated@xanga - Seconded.
I listen to techno, dance, trance, etc, and even I found this to be highly annoying. Too much midless gibberish.
.....i was scared.
I think I've almost had a seizure for the past 5 minutes. Too much video cutting. The music is surprisingly harmonious though.
@sarahb_86@xanga - Seconded
I agree with methodElevated too.
