Women Can Be Guys Too?
I'd like to introduce myself. I love video games. College Humor is one of my favorite sites. I like to down a drink with the guys on movie night and laugh at fart jokes. I am a hardcore gamer. I play volleyball, tennis, and dabble in handball. I am perverted beyond belief.
My name is Yuliya.
I am a girl.
Let's face the facts: Women can be guys too. This is supported by the well-known fact that so many women read Mancouch (a site supposedly for the MAN, I mean look, it even has that word in the name!). It's also supported by people like me.
I bet everybody knows at least one girl who is "one of the guys". I mean, women are conventionally and socially supposed to be the gentler, kinder sex, ones who do not find drawing a mustache on your passed out friend amusing. But some of us do.
How do you guys feel about this role reversal? Who is that woman in your life? (Or is it you?)

I was that woman in college. To a certain extent, I still am.
I am guilty of being "one of the guys."
ok girls laugh at fart jokes but they dont laugh at actual farts > : (
I wish I could remember the context of this comment, but recently a buddy of mine (male), when the concern that the topic of conversation was inappropriate for the company we were keeping, declared, "It's just her. B's one of the guys anyway!". I've seriously always been 'one of the guys'. It was kind of nice to have that acknowledged.
@Kevin_is_a_pirate@xanga - sometimes they do.
A lot of the girls I went to college with were "one of the guys." One of my beer drinking buddies is a girl, and she can appreciate fine beer (i.e. not American cat piss) just as well as any TRUE beer drinking guy I know.
i have a couple of female friends that are one of the guys
I wish I had a mustache like that...
@Kevin_is_a_pirate@xanga - I do...if it's worth it ^_^ Especially the ones where they weren't expecting it to come out and they look all surprised.
Haha, everyone always says I'm one of the guys.
I'm the girl in my group of guy friends where someone says, "it's funny how's there only one girl" and everyone goes, "What girl?" I do all of that..except for the drinking. I don't drink for the pure fact that I know when something's good, I keep drinking it. So I'm not even gonna let myself see what happens. Drawing mustaches on passed out friends is always hilarious. I drew a curly mustache, beard and the eye glass connected to the pocket thing on my ex boyfriends face and took a picture of it while his brother was laughing in the background...And who doesn't like video games???
Bahahaha! I have a site on Macouch. I'm a girl, yet everyone thinks I'm a guy. O M F G. Maybe men take more serious that way. I wouldn't be surprised if more women do what I'm doing.
I meant maybe men take me more seriously. Who knows?
Yup, yup.
Tomboy to the end.
Apparently hanging out with me is like hanging out with a guy, cause I'm so laid back or whatever. That was the weirdest thing a guy has ever said to me regarding my personality. I'm just easy going, but I don't drink or anything like that. I'm polite but a smartass ha
@Kevin_is_a_pirate@xanga - I laugh at actual farts... my boyfriend and guy friends fart all the time and I laugh.. untill they stink. Then I feel like puking haha.
I'm not really that guyish but I enjoy male company more than female company. I like to play games but I suck at them. I like to drink beer. So I guess I'm just normal. Not a girly girl, or one of the guys. Just a ... girl.. ? hahah
I'm the 'serious' one, so I can't be one of the guys. v__v
i don't think women can be "guys too" because i don't accept those gender roles to begin with, and i don't think any particular behavior is exclusively "guy" behavior. to me, there should be no roles to reverse.
i do believe all people are free to drink, watch collegehumor, play video games, enjoy sports, and crack fart jokes (as i am guilty of all the above).
ha! totally me. as a matter of fact I find that i break up with guys because of the fact that they r way more sensitive and moody than me. (i swear some guys really pms..)
I am that woman.
@MissPixieGlitter@xanga - Well said!Â
It just depends on the 'gender roles' you use to describe males and females.
Read this article on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_role
@Kevin_is_a_pirate@xanga - I laugh at actual farts more than fart jokes, to be honest.
i had this conversation with my coworker today because obviously we work in a men industry. we came to the conclusion that us girls can be one of the guys and be tough and stand up for what we believe in, but at the same time, we can also be girly.
@Kevin_is_a_pirate@xanga - I laugh at farts, I laugh when I fart.
I participate in belching contests, I spit in public, I eat like a fucking pig. I am far from being a girly girl. Beer, fart jokes, dead baby jokes, drawing of friends when they are passed out (Or spray painting them >.> Tyler.. >.< ) , I definately would be considered one of the guys
