The first week of July is usually slotted for party preparations. The 4th of July is a time that Americans can celebrate Independence from years of British rule. We told George III where he could shove his nonsense taxes among many other things. However, the American people have another reason to celebrate the 4th of July:
This [insert degrading noun] is gone.
Now, it is not because she is women or some other bigotry that I say this. It is the shear recklessness of her political career that is the main concern of most people. A prime example is the PETA issue. If PETA happens to get you on their shit list, run! PETA has been known to have ties with the Animal Liberation Front (ALF). Now this is ALF as in terrorist organization that bombs restaurants and torches research labs, not this furry telemarketer:
Most of you are probably thinking, "PETA, big deal?" And I'll agree for this sake of this post. So, I'll give you another reason why her career burnt out: she is completely clueless most of the time. One of the major blunders of her career, for me, was not knowing what Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac do. The Huffington Post had a great article that stated:
Speaking before voters in Colorado Springs, the Republican vice presidential nominee claimed that lending giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac had "gotten too big and too expensive to the taxpayers." Upon analysis of the comment Dean Baker stated, "You would like to think that someone who is going to be vice president and conceivable president would know what Fannie and Freddie do," said the co-director of the Center for Economic and Policy Research. "These are huge institutions and they are absolutely central to our country's mortgage debt. To not have a clue what they do doesn't speak well for her, I'd say."
So love her for her charm or hate her for her ignorance, Palin is gone from office. Although she hinted at some kind of 2012 presidential race, she probably still wont win. (If she does, she will probably rule over mutant zombies.) I'll shelf her alongside William Henry Harrison's presidential career that suffered from "super pneumonia." So, I raise my booze to the fact that she is gone and I can rest easy. Cheers!

I personally thought she automatically lost her marbles when she thinks she will get away being a vice president, when she didn't even know what it does. (toasts a cup of Strawberry soda) To regaining political freedom!

I love how the media warped you. They took a gov who did excellent things for Alaska and tore her to shreds. Everyone knew she was inexperienced infront of a camera, but she was intelligent and would have worked hard in washington.

I'm not against Republicans. But I am against ignorance. Sarah Palin was ignorant and it tarnishes the reputation of Republicans to even be associated with her name. I hope she never comes back into the limelight.

She has never shown any signs of intelligence and is furthermore proud of her ignorance. She is incurious, immature, and a pathological liar. She lies at an amazing rate. Not even typical politician lies either, easily disprovable ones. She is a a terrible snowbilly grifter. Also, her regard for herself is astronomical despite having accomplished and knowing nothing. She is a sham and a fraud. It is only the slave devotion of her christianist followers that keeps her having any relevance. That and her erratic attention whore behavior. I am ashamed that anyone was ever so cynical and unpatriotic and to push her forward as a legitimate national politician.
This post is poorly written. What PETA issue? You never claim what the issue is. You simply say that PETA's bad (I agree) and you never explain to connection to Palin. Is she affiliated with PETA? PETA would never be associated with anyone who kills wolves from helicopters.
Unfortunately, the more you tear Sarah Palin to shreds, the more the conservatives will love her.

You know, she wasn't the best choice for VP candidate, but she was a successful mayor in Wasilla, AK and also a successful governor. She championed energy issues and accomplished more on this front in 2+ years as governor than any governor before her. She was a champion on education issues, and passed proven reforms in the AK educational system. Was she ready for the nationwide spotlight? Not in the slightest, but she could be some day.
The OP obviously holds a negative view of her because s/he didn't care to actually look into her bio, but only relied on HuffPo and (presumably) other blogs or liberal media for their information. Am I glad that she is going to be leaving office in AK? I could care less since I live in PA. Do I think 2012 would be a good time for her to run for President? Not necessarily - but it's not because she's stupid (she's not, and if you cared to research you'd know that), it's because she's still inexperienced. I could see her being a successful senator, gaining some experience in both federal policy and national media attention, and then maybe going for it in 2016 or 2020.
She's not an idiot, and she is accomplished. She's green behind the ears and inexperienced (kind of like our President), but she has the potential still (should she choose to do so) to prove the OP and the millions of other lemmings who take HuffPo as reliable journalism wrong and rise to viable national prominence.

As a Republican, this is the best news I've heard all year.

I think I'm never going to post about politics again. It was foolhardy to think I could pull it off without people blasting an opinon. If I disagree with someone, I say so but I would also try to understand their stance. Also, this post was more of a satire than anything. I would have to write pages and pages of stuff if I was serious.

In fact, it has nothing to do with her negatives at all and yet you point to it as her largest one. There are many people on PETA's shitlist, but you describe them as being associated with eco-terrorists so wouldn't it be a positive to be on their shit list? All I'm saying is construct a better argument. If you're trying to explain why you're glad she's gone, like I am, find better reasons than PETA, who everyone hates, is angry at her.

She was not ready for the national stage and she will not be because she is incurious and proud of her ignorance. I think you need to do some research. If you look at her record she has not been a successful mayor or governor. As mayor she forced women who had been raped to pay for their own rape kits, banned books, and spent thousands upon thousands of tax payer dollars decorating and re-decorating her office. She ran that town into a debt it still hasn't paid off. Furthermore, I could run that town. It's a tiny town. All you have to do is not fuck it up. And she did! She fucked it up! And you should take a look at Alaska right now. She's only been in office 2.5 and she's spent the past year on TV (not actually running the government) and receiving ethics complaint after ethics complaint. So, about a year and half as governor when people liked her, but she was committing massive amounts of ethics violations. She is a crook and a liar and an ignoramus.
I am so glad to be free of the snowbilly grifter. I look forward to the coming week when we find out what scandal caused her to resign.
