Apparently, the New York Mets arrived at their hotel in Pittsburgh on the same night it was hosting a Furry convention.
Now we know where Andrew Lloyd Weber came up with "Cats."
Holy crap, I nearly peed myself when I read
this story.
Yes, the Westin Hotel in Pittsburgh is not only hosting the Mets this week, but
Anthrocon 2009, the world's largest convention for people who like to dress in animal costumes.
The Mets managed to
pull out a victory against the Brewers yesterday, with a 1-0 shutout courtesy of Mike Pelfrey. But the Mets desperately need a good night's sleep, given their recent injuries and uninspired play, so it can't be any comfort to know their REM-states might be disrupted by two people dressed in badger costumes going at it in the middle of their hallway.
To be honest, I've stayed in a Westin Hotel, and they're pretty damn nice. How the hell did the Furry Convention get the money--hell, the
permission--to throw this jamboree?!
Thoughts?

Fuckin' furries...
I'm thinking it's a way to mess with The Mets so they'll have a crappy game the following day due to lack of sleep. That or Gary Sheffield likes dressing up as a furry animal.
Hell, Idk.
haha
Furries creep me out so much. Ugh imagine them getting it on and making animal noises through the wall?
O.o they look swooky. I don't like big animal costumes like that, even though I wanna wear a bunny suit, but not with the huge head, I want the ears to be more like a fitted hood.....The huge head mask is scary! I'm not into the whole furry thing. I think it's stupid. Anime conventions sound so much more interesting...I think that spawned furry's popularity though.....-_-
Lol Well they paid good money just like everyone else did and I doubt the Westin will allow them to disturb the Mets players or any of their other guests.
If you've got money, they've got rooms and convention space. [shrug] That's business. I imagine comic/sci-fi/fantasy conventions are worse, what with all the larping.
It's a bit of a misperception that furries are all pervs who want to dress like animals and have sex. Like every other group, of course there are a few who get their kicks from it; however, most just view it as a means of socialization/fun (like anime conventions, etc).
I almost thought the furry thing was made up by encyclopedia dramatica, but it is indeed real.
wow, i didn't know there was such a thing...
@Lordv16@xanga - i totally agree...so strange.
LOL
Fur balls LOL
Wild Things having sex? In animal costumes? Reminds me of an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
people are strange
MOOOSE ahahahaha thats funny.
I almost couldn't get past the title for this post. That in itself was too frickin funny!
