How to avoid spooning your girlfriend
When you're young and in love, you sleep like this:
But at some point, you realize that it's insanely uncomfortable and you stop it. There's even this whole new antispooning technology called Sleepnumber, designed for people to sleep on their own side of the bed (you can even control how hard each side of the bed is):
SleepNumber beds are great... an official excuse not to spoon! Spooning is all fine and good, but not all night for crying out loud. Everything in moderation...
Do you spoon? What are some good excuses to avoid spooning?

Heyyy, my boyfriend & I loooove spooning <3. I can't think of any reason to want to avoid it :P
hahahaha SO TRUE.
spooning and like cuddling are comfortable and nice.......for like the first....20 minutes lol and then you start to realize how uncomfortable you are. and that your right arm and left leg r awkwardly positioned and want to MOVE it SO BADLY. but then you glance over at your partner and realize hes fast asleep......awesome.
what to do?
lol i always find myself in this position. and i dont wanna like move cause by moving id probb accidently wake him upp and i dunno i hate to do that...so i just lay there in agony n pray that any moment he just moves on his own n then i change positions as fast as i can lol.
in one swift fluid motion.
but then as the time goes by i just inch my way further from him so i can sleep my own way :) lol

Oh god, no. I hate spooning or sharing a bed with another person. I'm a kicker. I don't mind sharing a bed while in the moment, but after.... 'adios!'

yourblondeness is right - that's not spooning. spooning is pretty cozy and i still fall asleep that way.
but that pictured stuff...yeah. you can't keep that up forever. certainly not for sleeping. though it does work for...what's the word she used? oh yeah, cuddling. with limited-time-horizon.
I agree, cuddling/spooning is good for about 10min then it becomes hot and uncomfortable and i roll away. She can complain all she wants I dont care. LET ME SLEEP
Spooning is not that bad.. If we fall asleep like that, we fall asleep like that.
If anyone "makes" you spoon while going to sleep is lame. If it's not comfortable, then why would your partner make you do it? They are being greedy and it's not nice.
You should not need an excuse. Just say "This is not comfortable, so I don't want to do it" if they get mad then they're stupid.

I love spooning. Cuddling tends to get uncomfortable after a while though.
I also guess it depends if you're the big spoon or little spoon :o)
Are you kidding! I love spooning. When my hubby is laying behind me and grinds up on me!!!! Total turn on! I am ready to go instantly! Why would anyone not want to spoon!
Spooning is really really nice. I could definately use some right about now. Summers are pretty lonely in a long distance relationship. Anyone wanna just come cuddle? Lol jk.

We spoon. But now that it's summer time we don't so much because it's so hot at night. So we'll sleep on our backs with my hand in his boxers or on his groin ;]
i want to be spooned!
My husband and I fall asleep spooning everynight. We love it! I can always tell when he falls asleep because he loosens his grip on my hips...lol
I am definately pro-spoon! Especially when I get to be the little spoon. Lucky for me, my guy is too. Actually, he seems to like spooning even more than I do. He's always asking for a "tighter spoon".
But it's true, as the other commenters have stated; that picture is not of spooning. Spooning is when both people lay on their sides, facing the same direction. Fitting together the way spoons in a silverware drawer do. Duhr.

That picture is the typical - lying on the chest thing, not spooning but still good though my arm usually goes numb underneath. Personally, I'm a spooner! There's nothing better with sleeping like this, feeling the other person's body next to yours and hearing their gentle breathing next to your ears as their face rests in the nape of your neck. :P
It's only comfortable for the first few minutes and only if you're awake. I hate falling asleep while cuddling someone; I wake up with terrible back/neck pain.
my arm would feel numb when she's sleeping on it for a long period of time.

Oh dear. I feel terrible for having a perfectly natural reaction to being in an intimate position with a woman I was very enamored of all those times.
