  • How to Mix an Exploding Drink

I'm usually not one for pranks, but this one seems kinda fun and not something that could potentially damage the prankee for life. In the June issue of Wired Magazine, Daniel Dumas provides a recipe for the Manhattan Project, a drink that will overspill the sides of the glass within five minutes of being poured. As you might expect, there's something that needs to react in the drink to make it effectively erupt. In this case, the prankster needs to use Diet Coke and rum for the base of the drink and freeze mint-flavored Mentos into the ice cubes. Obviously, when the ice melts, the candy and cola will mix and all hell will break loose.

No word on whether or not it all tastes good post-explosion, though. You'll just have to try it for yourselves.

Would you play an exploding drink prank on your friends?
