Batman vs. Spider-Man
It's a dark, gothic night on the urban streets down a quiet alley way occupied with garbage bins and escape ladders. All, if not, most of the lights from the apartment windows are shut off and all to be seen is the silhouette of a man hanging upside-down from a rope.
(Ed's note: We couldn't find a silhouette, but this awesome pic from DeviantArt should give the general idea.)
As he leaps to the ground with such grace and agility, he begins to walk forward, out of the alley way and into the dead intersection. Filling the newspapers and tabloids, this man is often debated as a city hero and a first class villain. Either which way, this man is no ordinary man. He’s the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!Stopping dead in his tracks, his Spidey Senses detect a noise from the ledge of an apartment building. Looking up, he’s greeted by a man dressed in gray with a black cape’s feet as he swoops down to take out Spider-Man. Recovering almost immediately, Spider-Man gets back up, and stays low to the ground, facing another superhero – Batman.

Both are most notoriously famous in their separate comic book worlds, but if they were to run into each other one dark night (no pun intended) on the streets, who would win? I personally predict Spider-Man, simply because his powers are natural and anything that Batman has in his tool-I mean utility belt, Spider-Man can easily deflect out of his way to kick Batman’s ass.
What do you think? Think logically here, too! What would happen if Batman and Spider-Man crossed paths?

Was Batman prepared for this encounter?
@Lady_Kelacy@xanga - Prepared?
Spider-Man would win, hands down.
By the way, the girl who wrote this is hot.
@mancouch - I think she means "was he ready to use proper protection?"
@mancouch - Well, he always seemed to have some plant specific concoction of something or other when he went up against Poison Ivy.
Batman. Spider Man is a pussy.
I think perhaps, as both of these characters usually think out situations before throwing fists, it wouldn't really devolve into a fight.
However, if it did, I think it would be a close one. I could see it going both ways...
I would have to really think about it.
well, i would say Christian Bale could beat Tobey Maguire's easily. But I don't know about the actual comic characters.
All Batman needs to do is capture Mary Jane.
@skylar_rose@xanga - That was kind of my line of thought too. Neither of these characters would just get into a fight for no reason, but if they did, I'm not sure who would win.
batman. because he cheats and doesn't give a shit about it. he would throw a nerve gas pellet at spidey's ass like he did spawn.
It's an interesting question. I think Batman would figure out Spidey's identity, realize that he was a teenager, would hear in his banter that he was a good guy (and wise ass) and they wouldn't fight. I think Spidey would realize that Batman's a good guy too. Either way, no fight. Unless they fought as a way of improving their own strengths. In that case, I think Spidey would win. Although Batman could use gas or light or some other dazzling development that would deprive Spidey of everything but his spidey sense.
batman hands down - hes so badass without any supernatural abilities. besides the "reinvented" spidey is emo -- and batman will always be the original dark brooding tortured superhero
I propose that we never include Batman in any fights in the future because he always wins. I think the only stalemate would be between Batman and Chuck Norris.
Batman has detailed files on how to take down the entire Justice league... Spiderman wouldn't have a chance.
batman all the way. hes rich, angry, hot & has tools
spiderman was a pussy! lol
spider man would own batman since he has spider senses
Batman, hands down.
Batman would already have won this fight and nine others before he left the Batcave because he's ten moves ahead in the game against any player. He'd pull out his anti-arachnid neutralizing dart gun, stick Pete in the ass, then spank him.
omg my post actually got well... posted. :D and i'm glad no one yelled at me for being lame for actually thinking about this stuff in my spare time...
@Lady_Kelacy@xanga - and he was... because he wasn't sure what/who spider-man was... and was investigating :D
@Dare2BDiferentt@xanga - lawl, thanks. nice afro
@DrKND - lmfao, that was my second thought too. because both are good-doers, i think they would join up and save New York together
@JosephParsons@xanga - that would only happen if he's got Robin at his side though ;\
@ROCKtheB0ATx@xanga - Hmmm... That would be a close one, I think. I would have to say Batman, in a fight as he has more experience and what not, but I would really WANT and I would totally CHEER for Spidey.
spider man
and there's always something wrong about putting a marvel character against a dc character. I've always prefer marvel over dc.
It's a stand still... Spidey has his Spidey Sense (danger sense) ...naturally, if Batman knocks Spidey's Sense out, Bat's wins....more fighting styles, experience, gadgets, out thinks his opponents on the fly... Spidey on the other hand, can engage from a distance, is unnaturally quick, hard to hit with his reflexes and danger sensing ability, and is younger in compairison.
the fight is a draw....there are too many intangibles and the fight would only go 15 minutes before they realized they were on the same side in the first place. so DUH...its a DRAW!!!
@ROCKtheB0ATx@xanga - Chicks who dig superheros are almost as cool as chicks who dig Sci-fi.
Both are humanitarians...but Batman doesn't have special powers.
So I say Batman is better.
Batman wins. Batman always wins. This is the one rule of the comic book universe. The End.
