March 2010 is going to be the greatest month ever
I wasn't introduced to Band of Brothers until the history channel started running it a while after it had come out on HBO, but I quickly fell in love with the series. Everything about it is actually amazing, and though I heard they were making a similar series for war against Japan, I had completely forgotten about it until last week when the trailer for The Pacific came out.
After seeing the trailer I have to say that it looks like it could be even better than Band of Brothers and I'm not waiting around to watch it like last time. I'm buying a giant flatscreen and getting HBO specifically to watch this series. It's going to be amazing.

wow, that does look amazing. I actually have Band of Brothers on DVD I loved it. That's probably how I will see this one. I can never catch those back to back , I end up missing 1 or 2 .
there's more than 1 band of brothers series??<3
@aznspartan94@xanga - it's considered completely unrelated to Band of Brothers but it's produced and directed by the same people (Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg) and it's essentially the same thing under a different name
I hope one day they'd make a series on the 442nd, with a little sidetrip to the Internment Camps, perhaps.
what, you ask, is the 442nd? aka Purple Heart Batallion?
@TheUnbearableLightnessofPeeing@xanga - I think that would be amazing. My dad's side of the family spent the war interned in Heart Mountain, WY, while my grandfather and several uncles faithfully served the same country which stripped their families of their civil rights. My grandfather was in Military Intelligence and two of my uncles served in the 100th/442nd.
It's a shame that more people don't know their story. Same with the Tuskeegee Airmen. Both units had to fight both the enemy and prejudice at the same time.
I love this fucken series, I'm a WWII nut
man I cant fucking wait.
I just might have to pony up and not wait for it on the History Channel
Looks very interesting.
dang. got the shivers.
I saw the trailer a couple days ago and I agree that it's amazing. I don't know if it's better than Band of Brothers as I think it's the best films ever made, but I do have high hopes.
Darrel "Shifty" Powers also passed away a couple days ago.
