A special event happens every few years. A special gift to those who love comedy and those who love deep, soul dampening sadness is given to us under the law. That's right, it's that time of the year again! More Nixon White House tapes have been released!
They're always just so inspiring, aren't they? What a hero this man. A man brave enough to tell us that our shiny new president should have been aborted because .... you know ... mulatto.
What I am referring to is in these
newly released tapes Nixon sums up his views on abortion thusly:
"There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white," he told an aide, before adding: "Or a rape."Bravo, sir, bravo. You truly earn the title of racist fink that has been bestowed upon you over and over again.

As long as this ignorant fuck isn't running the country now, I don't care what he said.
But if I had the opportunity I would gladly murder him. =]
@lovechartreuse@xanga - That would be quite a feat! He died in 1994...
@lovechartreuse@xanga - @john@xanga - agree
haha some girl in my AP gov class defended him once. it was very weird.
LOL
i agree... i can't tell if this quote is more funny than sad or more sad that funny. either way, it's just not good.
isn't this guy dead and in hell?
anyway. believe it or deny it, the man currently holding the office of president of the United States IS the future of this country.
In less than a hundred years, most everyone will look back at this current president and think nothing of it- you know why? Because the people looking back at that time will be some form of mixed. Race will literally be a non-issue.
maybe we forget that there used to be a lot more latent racism then....it wasn't too long after all the wildness and social upheaval of the 1960s...and he was raised with an entirely different mindset than the one that prevails today.
(i'm glad everyone is offended though. shows we've come farther than we thought.)
but be careful about projecting modern views backwards...that's just bad for history.
That's ridiculous. I'm with everyone else, though------as long as he's dead and not running our country, it's a good thing.
@BranmacFeabhail@xanga - yeah your right. he was from a different generation then us and they thought differently about race then.
what he said was wrong. it stupid to abort a baby because of race.
@john@xanga - Oh I know. Good riddance. =x
I really want to say that these quotes surprised me...but this strange little man's ignorance really knew no bounds. No wonder he found it so easy to lie and feel justified in his behavior. Just when you thought he couldn't get any creepier, he just proves you wrong with new levels of creepiness.
Fink really is the most appropriate word for him.
Completely two-faced, to boot.
What a fink indeed! And this guy is like Biggie, still releasing tapes for years after he dies.
lawl, he was such a fail president =0)
Damn, i just saw this post now and didn't see it all before. Well, here's my 2 cents on this,no matter how late it is.
Aside from the fact that racism during Nixon's lifetime wasn't highly stigmatized as it is in our present time, I wasn't all that surprised to find out about this. Why? Just go back and remember he was a Republican. As he was voted by the majority(mostly the rich whites and even some blue collar whites who were resented from the empowerment of blacks' and minorities' rights for equality), his platform, which set a standard more than ever after the Race Riots for other Republicans to follow, was to make life much better for whites and the rich, and just rich whites only, never EVER for minorities and those who are working class and underrepresented.
