I watched the movie and decided to write a review, because I can.
I think this picture sums it up pretty well. (I know it's a poster for the first one)
If you're looking for a reason to go see this movie, I'll give you one, and then I'll give you two more.
1. Epic Fight Scenes
The entire movie is nonstop action. Bumblebee gets his ravage on, and Optimus is absolutely bad-ass. Once again, the movie includes a fight scene which I estimate to be stretched over the entire last hour of the movie. It's awesome, huge explosions and giant robots annihilating each other.
2. The SOUND
Just as good as it was in the last one. Come on, you know it's awesome when those robots transform. Chkchkchkchkwhsh! What more could you ask for?
3. Megan Fox
You could ask for a smoking hotty. There's actually two babes in this film, Megan Fox and Isabel Lucas (playing Alice), although Isabel isn't in it for too much, and she gets real freaky.
Anyway, Megan Fox is HOT like you've never seen her before. Running around all bouncy without a bra for half the movie is enough to induce crotch swelling. And as a 16 year old guy, I've picked up on a bonus. She really should wear a bra with that see through shirt - watch REAL closely the first scene when it's just Megan and Shia LeBeouf in the desert during the night.
With that said,
Michael Bay is a serious draw back to the otherwise spectacular film.
This post says it all about Michael Bay. He is not funny, I think I laughed twice throughout the entire movie, and the plot could be so much better. With that said, it is TRANSFORMERS, it doesn't require an awesome plot to be epic, it'd just make it that much better.
The humor in the movie is something hard to get over. He's constantly cracking the lame testicle/scrotum/sexual-centred jokes, and as nprospect said in his blog, they are not funny. They are almost insulting to anyone with a mind developed beyond the level of the average bear. And I won't get started on the dialogue, I tried to ignore as much of it as I could, and have already forgotten the rest.
However, Michael Bay does what he does best in this film, and he does it well. Explosions to the max. HUGE explosions. If you wanna see anything and everything go BOOM, look no further.
Personally, I think despite some flaws the movie is still good, regardless of its flaws.
In conclusion, I would summarize the movie with these final words
- Plot/Dialogue = Ignored
- Transformers = Loud
- Optimus Prime = Bad-ass
- Megan Fox = Hot

With movies these days, it sounds like a hit already. May go see it, but I prefer Pan's Labyrinth to boomfests anyday.
Michael Bay is a guy's favorite director. Great action with a lot of explosions. Sure, the storylines may be hit or miss, but the action is always a hit.
@Lordv16@xanga - haha, i didn't know there was humor in the first one, i was ignoring the dialogue as the OP suggested we should do for this installment.
This post basically sums up what summer blockbuster action movies are meant to be. (except for the crotch humor).
The movie was lacking in good humor but for the amount of humor it lacked, it was made up for with the humor of my friends sitting next to me. That made the movie's epic explosions and robot fight scenes go perfect with my friends' insanely funny wit. So if it weren't for them that movie would not have been as awesome.
That's how all Micheal Bay's movies are. Short story plots and huge explosions filling up the screen. (Hitting people with short attention span) Jedi Mind Trick~

I saw it opening night and I was rather disappointed...
I actually liked the plot. (the Transformers history part) But quite frankly, the Twins are the most obnoxious characters I've seen since Jar Jar Binks. They really killed the movie for me. It could have been soooo much better than it was.
However, Optimus Prime is the epitome of bad ass in this movie, and yes, there LOTS of explosions and it sounds great.
However, I'd give this movie far more Cons than Pros, sadly.
I agree with about 90 percent of the things you said, except about Megan Fox. If you saw it in Imax, you could see her grooossss cake face eww and her lips took up about 50% of the screen when they shot a close up of her face.
