When I was fifteen, I broke up with an AWESOME girlfriend simply because she couldn't spell. Times were different then; our relationship was conducted primarily on AIM or in the back of her car (like most teenage relationships), so spelling mattered!
Specifically, she consistently misspelled "
Tomorrow" as "
Tomarrow." Unbearable.
I was recently hooking up with a girl who spelled the word "
Swear" as "
Sware." I sware if she txts me tomarrow I'm gunna end things.
What's the shallowest reason you've ever had for breaking up with someone?

Ha! Dare2BeDifferent didn't get the first post.
wat? tat's evil! :P
how shallow! i broke up w/ a guy i liked b/c he was overweight and he was planning on visiting me in college and i didn't want my friends to see that i was dating a big guy. so i started an argument w/ him over something stupid and small and dumped him. problem solved.
I dumped a guy because he wouldn't kiss a girl until he got married. But I think that's probably not shallow. I mean, come on...
I also dumped a guy because he was so not cute, and I don't even know what I was thinking, but I picked a fight over nothing (much like the girl above me) and dumped him. He begged for forgiveness, but I said I could not be with someone "like that," and it wasn't even about anything. Hahaha
I have broken up with someone that couldn't spell, too. It bothers the hell out of me!
she turned ugly.
i don't think that's shallow. isnt shallow usually considered breaking up with someone b/c of a change in his/her appearance? this seems more like breaking up with someone who's an idiot. jk. someone who just couldnt spell as well as you, and may have been an indication of someone who couldn't challenge you intellectually at the time... =)
I started dating a guy in 8th grade, and about two weeks in he started getting really bad acne (everywhere...face, back, chest). I didn't even want to touch him, much less kiss him. I had my friend break up with him for me...ha!
Spelling is a pretty big thing for me too. I dated a guy a couple years ago who spelled "though" as "thou," not just once, but all the time! He also used poor grammar, which was a total turn-off.
He was white and refused to take off his shoes in my Asian home.
I have broken up with people for a plethora of reasons including; he owned and wore a pair of cut off denim shorts, he had a foot fetish, and his teeth were crocked.
If someone was constantly misspelling things I wouldn't even BEGIN seeing them.
i once broke up with a girl because her penis was bigger than mine.
@atmaster@xanga - Me too.
@El_Prego_Nikki@xanga - do you mean his teeth were crooked?
lol, sorry i couldn't help myself
@Delmege@xanga - HAHHAHA.
I liked you noticed that.
Let me see. I didn't want to date another guy told him...you suck byhe
@Covergirl_For_Sanity_Fair@xanga -
Glad someone noticed.
I have never had to break up with anyone, since I have not been with anyone.
'cuz she didn't invite me to her prom...is that shallow? idk...
@My_blog_for_2009@xanga - It's okay.
He was only 21 and balding... but then again, he also cheated on me. So I said, "You cheated on me, it's over. Plus, you're BALDING!!" Just to throw it in his face.
i didnt want my friends knowing i dated an un attractive guy.
@xa06@xanga - oh my gosh how rude! Why in the world did he not take of his shoes?
I've never broken up before.... so I haven't had a shallow reason. The "shallowest" reason for me not to date a guy that liked me was because he was weird. lol.
I'd dump someone, too, if they couldn't spell unless they were extremely intelligent otherwise. It's just such a turnoff when someone isn't intellectually on par. Plus, the smarter the guy is, the better his job will probably be, and the more fiscal security I'll have if we get married.
i broke up with a guy in college because i couldn't keep looking at his crooked teeth anymore, it was getting on my nerves.
My ex broke up with me because I gained about 5 pounds when I was going through a stressful time and wasn't working at as much.
OH NOES FIVE POUNDS.
Eh...I broke up with a guy once because he was "too immature". In fact, I had just fallen for an older guy.
The shallowest reason?
Because she was across the Atlantic indefinitely and not making the effort to keep in touch with me.
Does that count?
