The Hangover: Mancouch's Movie of the Month
I just saw The Hangover today... and it is Mancouch's pick for Mancouch's Movie of the Month!!
RottenTomatoes reports that 76% of al reviews were positive, which shocked me. How could 24% of people think this movie wasn't brilliant?!
So I thought we'd read a snippet from one of the negative reviews. This has the two-fold benefit of lowering your expectations (so you enjoy the movie more), and allowing us to mock people we don't know. This represents the worst sort of pandering slop, the type that appeases impressionable audiences who don’t even realize they’re being insulted. It insinuates that practically every man is a shallow asshole who revels in his Neanderthal habits, and that every woman falls into the category of shrew or whore.Again, contrast this with, say, the characters played by Steve Carell and Catherine Keener in The 40-Year-Old Virgin or Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann in Knocked Up — recognizably flawed people who nevertheless remain likable and interesting enough to earn our sympathies. The dipshits on view in this film are neither funny enough nor engaging enough to command our attention as they wander through a series of set-pieces that reek of comic desperation rather then genuine inspiration (as evidenced in Old School and at least three times here, director Todd Phillips seems to believe that seeing a homely man naked is automatically a gut buster). Honestly, if I wanted to hang out with such backward clods, I’d save the ticket price and just go trolling in sports bars and frat houses.
WTF?! I went to an afternoon show and the audience was packed with both men and women. I don't think I've heard an audience laugh louder, ever.
I'm gonna cut to the chase: the movie wasn't remotely politically correct. If you can't get past that (like the clown above), then don't go see the movie. But if you enjoy reading Mancouch, then you'll enjoy watching this film.
If you don't enjoy reading Mancouch, then I can't help you.
Did you get a chance to catch The Hangover this weekend?

Going to see it next week!
Can't wait!
I saw The Hangover on Friday with my boyfriend. It was really funny! Who cares if it's politically incorrect or stupid humor? It's a movie. Geez.
i want to see it BECAUSE of the stupid humor...
I freakin' loved it <3 And I'm not a shrew or a whore =] Nor is my husband a shallow asshole. We have never laughed so hard during a movie. Of course, his bachelor party wasn't as wild seeing as how there was no tiger or unclaimed baby left in the room. At least...I hope not =P
I recommend. The movie, and this post =]
I just saw it a few hours ago and it was hilarious!
I WANNA GOOOO!!
prolly get to see it Tuesday or Wednesday
;D
It was literally the funniest movie I've seen in a while, I don't think I stopped laughing, and was still giggling in the car on the way home. I can see the person's point with the negative review, but honestly you have to know what to expect with a movie like that. That person took it WAY too seriously. It's not intellectual, brilliant or politically correct (which is obvious from the previews...) so no one should expect it to be. You have to take it for what it is.
Waiting on my gf to get back, really want to see this.
I just saw it a few hours ago and found it to be great. Its just a movie.
I think it was great!
I thought Land of the Lost was way way funnier...which really really surprised me.
SO FUNNY.
I did see it this weekend, and I must correct you in saying that it should be Mancouch's Movie of the Year.
I love non-PC humor. Political correctness takes the fun out of everything.
I wanted to see this when I saw the previews. Now I'm definitely going.
best movie :)

The review above was true. In fact, “The Hangover”
is a worthy entrant into the “guy movie” hall of fame. It’s got laughs, drugs,
tomfoolery, bodily harm, strippers, and a Mike Tysoncameo. The movie is
about a trip to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, and the events of which are
recounted as the characters sober up, and look into payday loans to cover the
money they spent. Films detailing "lost weekends" spent in Sin
City are becoming a genre unto themselves, as the town is noted for a touch of
Bacchanalian excess, with tradition extending before Hunter Thompsons' landmark
novel Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Still, there ought to be plenty of payday
cash for the producers if receipts match "The
Hangover" reviews.
so effin funny.
going to see it again :)
Great Movie...so freakin funny!
