Women Celebrities I Openly Crush On
Since we are all open to talking about celebrity crushes on women here, I'm probably that rare dude that really finds no real use in crushing on girls like Jessica Alba or Carmen Electra. In fact, whenever I see them, I am the one left shrugging his shoulders.
To me, a girl that has a good amount of subtlety and special things about her makes me fall for her. Now I won't really say I fell for these celebrities per se, but I will openly admit I have a crush on them for what they are. Here are 6 women that I am sold on (that aren't likely to get their own Lovelyish or ThePopSite post).
Ellen Muth:
I have a thing for girls not afraid to be smart, witty, and still likely to make a manturn into Lightspeed Champion. Or perhaps, I was just looking at Georgia. Either way, a girl who seems that real should gain eyes from all around. Oddly enough, she hasn't really gained the same media attention as, say, Alba or the like, so what she is doing right now in the entertainment vein is anybody's guess. Not to mention, the girl is also a MENSA member. Once I read that, I was sold, and afraid to cross her Wikipedia page. It took a lot just to collect a picture so you know what she looks like. Haha!Julie Goldman:
Now, I know it is not wise to assume people, and I also know she's openly a lesbian, but still, she seems like the type of girl you can play football with in the backyard (I have a a bit of a thing for tomboys), as well as raise a few kids with. Oh come on. Plus, she is funny. We have been talking about women who can make you laugh before, right?Shystie:
You know those type of women who aren't afraid to take on the big boys (she's a grime rapper), but will also maintain her feminity, too? That's the realistic Shystie. Once you have heard her CD, you'll understand why she is a breath of fresh air, as a view of what women can be, rather than ought-to-be's.Amanda Palmer:
Witty, Smart, Not afraid to stick up for the underdogs, or start worthy revolutions, even if that revolution is loving your belly. If she sees your average mean girl trying to take you or run game, she'll probably be the first to crack one square on her cheek. I can't even pay attention to the fact that her song "Ampersand" suggests she isn't the relationship type of woman.Kimya Dawson:
I tend to have things for girls who will openly admit she has her awkward side, but isn't afraid to be that. On her records, she seems like the type to babysit your kids, but on records like My Cute Sweet Fiend Princess, she also sounds like the type who you can trade dirty jokes to. Infectious smile and positive outlooks on life. Not only that, but she is a dedicated mom who could care less about what the media expects of her. Plus, listening to her records are a lot like having conversations or reading her blogs. You'll be glad to have a chance to meet with her face to face, if you the chance.Beth Ditto:
I have read her interviews, and she will be the first to tell you she doesn't really care what you think of her weight, her down South upbringing, or even the fact that she cracked to a major label. The things she says are pretty funny, and somehow I can't stop staring at how beautiful she is, and how likely she is to flip two birds, if you think otherwise. You think she won't, after embarrassing a viewer of MTV by posting hatemail as a default picture of the Gossip image? There are my choices of women who are nothing like Jennifer Lopez or Jessica Alba, but the little personalities they harbor makes me have an interest in them even more.

is this the first non-shallow post mancouch? i like it :D
i love Kimya Dawson's song!!! she is awesome!!! :D
Ugh... After the first one they all go downhill. This was a bad list and should be deleted. I'm usually not so critical, but damn... these girls are ugly. I don't care how smart or funny the girls are, it's difficult to be attracted to someone when you'd rather look at the ground than them.
Amanda Palmer is amazing.
I'm not sure this belongs on the mancouch...
Wow I loved this post! Ellen Muth is pretty much amazing, she's def pretty and funny! I loved her in Dead Like Me. They really need to bring that back on the air....and Beth Ditto is just wow...the Gossip is an amazing band. I love her style and how she's so free with herself...people should take a few pointers from her...:P
Big ups to you for posting this...I think I have a little faith in men now...
Thank you for being man enough to post this... I don't really care if other people find these girls attractive, because I'm guessing most of these "haters" are just going on physical apperance, where you take the combination of physical, mental and emotional and create it into something that represents true beauty, with a capability that extends beyond one too many people. I liked this a lot - pretty damn sweet and pretty damn refreshing.
Amanda's my fucking hero
beth ditto is so gross.
Finally, someone not focused 100% on physical beauty!
I don't know if I'd call them celebrities cause I've never heard of any of them. Then again that could be me not paying attention to what's going on in the music/film/etc. currently. But yeah, props for not just liking what everyone else likes.
Ellen Muth is great, but I haven't heard of any of the rest of them. &I've only seen Ellen in Dead Like Me, but thats a great show.
Thanks for the great list, Scorpio!!
chace crawford is hot. but he's a boy :)
I tend not to go for MENSA members. I don't really want to date anyone who is willing to pay to be part of a society whose mission is to twiddle their intellect on trivial activities.
(And no, that's not a bitterness due to not qualifying. Mensa accepts the top 2% of the population; I'm in the top 0.1%)
The other qualities you find admirable in women, I can generally agree with.
Ive no idea who any of these are =/
I don't know who any of them are, either. B or C-list celebrities?
I think it is cool that you go for mainly personality. However it is hard to crush on celebrities based on their personalities because it is alllll marketing what they tell about themselves. They WANT to be liked by a certain group of people, whether it be a mainstream group or not. Though I agree with the above, I think it is a bit pretentious to join MENSA.
However, you get major props in my book for choosing women on something other than solely physical beauty. The only one I knew of is Kimya Dawson.
I don't know about having a crush on the girls on your list but they do seem like girls you wouldn't mind hanging out with as friends.
ok seriously? the first one is pretty. the others? what? lol
Props. I'm not that great to look at, so I'd rather be rated by personality. Though, I still like looking at hot women. And Beth Ditto's personality scares me a little.
Hmm a post about personality and not looks? I think it's pretty freaking awesome. I don't have celeb crushes really, and if I do it's after I've seen them in plenty of things, or hear a lot of their songs. It's not really a crush though, just an admiration. My # 1 Celeb "crush" would have to be Zachary Quinto [aka: Sylar in Heroes, and Spock in Star Trek the new movie].
Celeb #1 has some serious eyebrows...
These are some ugly ass people. I mean it's one thing to like someone for who they are but I could find these people around my school. Are these even celebs? Wow Mancouch, you've moved to another low.
I like this!
but yeah.. some of them are kind of brutal.
