  • The Best Sports Week of the Year...

...unfortunately just ended.  That's right - you missed it.  Sorry I didn't warn you about it sooner, but I just realized it myself.

Now there are plenty of reasons why this past week could be considered the greatest sports week of the year and some of you are saying things like "well it's obviously the NBA playoffs" or "it's obviously the Stanley Cup Finals" or "it's obviously the beer pong championships (or was that last week)?"  But all of you are wrong.  This week was the best sports week of the year because of the NCAA College Softball World Series.

Angry commenters and know-it-alls that you are, I'm sure every one of you who gives a crap about sports is yelling at your computer right now because you can't possibly believe that softball is ranking higher than:
    • the NBA playoffs
    • the Stanley Cup finals
    • the second full month of Major League Baseball
    • the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series at Dover
    • the French Open
    • the Scripps National Spelling Bee
    • the Who Cares Golf Whatever Invitational of the Week Tournament with No Tiger Woods
    • Soccer?
But you're the reader and I'm the writer for a reason - I know more shit than you and I'm always right*.  Here's why the College Softball World Series was way cooler than any of those other things.

I will begin with a question: What is hotter?

If you chose the softball player with the nice ass, you're right.  Now imagine 9 of those on each team - running around and getting angry and excited and all other sorts of emotions over a game.  It may be weird when grown men do it, but when grown women get emotional over sports it's actually pretty cute.

Here's a short list of nouns that explain why the College Softball World Series was more exciting than everything else that happened this past week - girls, tight pants, sports.  If there was food involved it would be the greatest television experience of all time.  They're actually pretty good at the game too, which is a total plus.  Unfortunately the whole thing ended last night when Washington beat Florida to win a big trophy and a Playboy photoshoot.

They should really consider having softball be on year-round though.  It's a hell of a lot more interesting than NASCAR and I'm sure they could keep the beer commercials.  I'd just much rather look at this for three hours than cars driving in circles.

Also softball just makes much more sense as a sport and is way more exciting than racing.  And don't even get me started on poker.

Did you watch the College Softball World Series?  What did you think?

*Anyone who agrees with me is cool.  You all get 4 Xanga credits for being cool**.
**Apparently I'm not allowed to just "hand out" Xanga credits so..

    Um, no.

    1. I don't watch sports for a hotness factor.
    2. Female sports aren't legit.

i actually watched the finals for softball only because it said nba special. those espn tricksters.

i feel bad for the last girl who batted and lost it all.

  • Purrty_Pink@xanga

lols. idk the nba players are sexier than a girl in tight pants. the baseball players have nice asses too... and so do the football players even though football is not in season. i think you're kinda biased there sir.

@dadslittlegirl@xanga - you're a complete idiot. what do you mean female sports aren't legit?  are you just pissed cuz you can't play?!?!

i have to disagree with the softball world series being the best week in sports ever.  football is definitely my favorite sport so i gotta go with the super bowl as the best.

Speaking of female sports, I was at bdubs this past week and saw a softball game where 2 girls ran into each other while trying to catch a flyball. It was like I was watching a movie and it was scripted, but it wasn't... and several people were laughing, very loudly.

@C_UNIT42@xanga - Am I a complete idiot? Interesting. Haha, funny that you are dissing me all over the place for no reason whatsoever. I have played softball myself, and I was a cheerleader, and I played basketball. The first one I stopped playing when I broke my wrist playing the game, the second I quit because none of the girls took the actual game of football seriously, and the last one I quit 'cause I hate basketball and was just playing because I was begged to. But thanks for the offer of your critisism. In the end, when compared to men's sports, women's just don't cut it.

@dadslittlegirl@xanga - yeah, i'm gonna have to apologize on that one.  i think i wrote that when i was drunk, which really makes me the idiot in that case.  lol.  i actually agree with you, which makes me wonder why i wrote that in the first place.
